Heartopia is a vibrant and cozy game filled with enjoyable activities, including cooking. In Heartopia, players can turn simple ingredients into tasty dishes to eat, sell, or use for quests. The game also features a Cooking Mastery system, which rewards players for repeatedly making certain meals.
Reaching higher levels in Cooking Mastery takes patience, practice, and planning. As you improve, you’ll earn special rewards and show off your achievements beyond just medals. Here’s how to unlock the Cooking Mastery system.
### How to Unlock the Cooking Mastery System
Cooking Mastery keeps track of how many times you make a specific recipe. To unlock the different tiers of mastery for an item, you’ll need to cook the same dish 160 times. When a mastery tier is unlocked, you’ll get a letter from Annie in the mail, and you can view your progress under Collection > Gourmet Life > Details > Personal > Records.
Once you reach the first tier, more cooking with the same recipe will unlock subsequent levels. After cooking the same dish 480 times, you’ll reach the Expert level, and at 960 times, you’ll attain Mastery.
### Tips for Achieving Cooking Mastery
Reaching the top Mastery tier takes a lot of time. To speed things up, select recipes that are easy to make with common, accessible ingredients. The House Salad, Fruit Jams, and Coffee are some of the simplest recipes to start with. Setting up more than one stove allows you to cook multiple dishes simultaneously. A good setup is three stoves arranged in a semicircle, which helps manage multiple dishes efficiently and gives you time to adjust heat if needed.
For quick and profitable practice, Onsen Eggs are a good option, but keep in mind you can only buy a limited number of eggs each week from Massimo.
### What Are the Rewards for Cooking Mastery?
When you unlock a mastery tier by cooking a recipe 160 times, you’ll receive a letter from Annie explaining your progress, along with 1,000 gold coins. The ultimate goal is to complete the entire Cooking Mastery system, which means cooking the same dish 960 times. When you do, you’ll earn a decorative version of that food to display in your home.
Decorative food is a fun way to personalize your space, especially since real food placed indoors can be eaten by strangers. Setting food to “self-only” access helps keep your decorations safe while still creating a lively, restaurant-like vibe. These rewards also serve as impressive display items for your hobbies, showcasing your dedication to cooking mastery.
### How to Set Food to Self-Only
If you want to prevent others from eating your placed food, go to your in-game mobile device and open the settings menu. From there, select “Home Settings,” and use the arrows to adjust the “Consume Food” option to “self only.” This way, only you or your chosen friends can enjoy the food you leave on display.
