Crimson Desert is now out, giving you a new huge fantasy world to explore. As the mercenary swordsman Kliff, you’ll battle waves of enemies, solve puzzles, complete quests for different factions, and find many secrets along the way.
One of these secrets is the Dusk Marksman’s Plate Cloak. It’s a stylish, edgy-looking cloak and helmet combo you can find hidden in Demeniss. Here’s where to find the cloak and what it offers if you’re more interested in its practicality than looks.
### Dusk Marksman’s Plate Cloak Location
To get the Dusk Marksman’s Plate Cloak, you need to head east through Demeniss to reach Drywind Valley. This can be challenging — especially early in the game, when you’re still doing quests in Hernand. You’ll have to ride your horse across large areas to reach the location. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes if you stay on the main roads, so plan accordingly.
Demeniss is filled with enemies because a aggressive, military group controls much of the area. For those without a lot of gear or upgrades for Kliff, it’s best to avoid fights if you can. The only potential ambush site is Breezeblown Knoll, where enemies hide in the wheat fields and may attack if you get off your horse.
When you reach the marked spot, look for a big waterfall between two cliffs. At the bottom of the waterfall, there’s a rocky path that goes into the water. Float or climb down this path and get close to where the water hits the rocks. Use the right bumper + Y on Xbox or right bumper + Triangle on PlayStation to perform a thrust attack. This lets you stab through the water and enter the cave.
### Noteworthy: Entering the Cave
There’s no other way into the cave because the water pushes you away if you try to walk or run into it. Follow the path inside until you reach a small area with chests, a Refined Palmer Pill, and a larger chest that contains the Dusk Marksman’s Plate Cloak. You don’t need to fight enemies or solve puzzles in the cave—just ride to the location, and the cloak is yours.

### Is the Dusk Marksman’s Plate Cloak Worth It?
For players who prioritize function over fashion, the cloak is decent. It has 3 Defense and 3 Fire Resistance. While it doesn’t give huge advantages like some powerful swords, the extra fire resistance can be helpful, especially when fighting enemies like the Bleed Bandits, who use makeshift flamethrowers.
In terms of appearance, if you’re wondering why your cloak doesn’t have two chained spears attached like mine do, that’s likely a bug. If you perform a glide jump off a roof or cliff and press X on Xbox or Square on PlayStation, the spears will appear on your back after you land. They don’t affect gameplay, and the only way to remove them is to take off the cloak in your inventory and put it back on. Once you start gliding again, the spears reappear and stay until you re-equip the cloak.
