Although the main gameplay of Arc Raiders feels like a roguelike, where you drop into a map with certain loot and test your luck against Arc machines and other enemies, your success heavily depends on your starting items and current level.
The higher your level, the more skill points you earn, allowing you to unlock additional skills for the match. Some of these skills offer quality of life improvements, like faster looting, while others provide significant combat advantages. Quickly leveling up and unlocking these skills is one of the most crucial aspects of progressing in the game.
Stay on the upper level as long as possible
A surprisingly effective way to level up fast in Arc Raiders is by playing for as long as you can. Each raid map lasts around 30 minutes, but you can join an ongoing raid and stay in it even if it’s been running for a few minutes. You can see the time remaining before the raid ends at the top. If you want to gain a lot of experience points, the best strategy is to remain in the raid as long as possible.
Every second spent on the upper level earns you experience points, and these can quickly add up to around 2,000 in just a few minutes. To maximize this, keep track of key resources needed for upgrades and stay in the raid until you have gathered them all. You can also withdraw at any time if your health gets low and without any medication.
Knock out enemy players
Another quick way to earn experience points is by defeating enemy players, which is a core mechanic in Arc Raiders. Whether playing solo, with a duo, or in a trio, you’ll encounter enemies marked by gunfire and missiles across the map. If combat is your strength, taking on every enemy you see is one of the fastest ways to level up.
Knocking out enemy players grants you 500 experience points each, and with good combat skills and awareness, you can rack up four or five kills per raid. However, engaging in combat means you’ll need plenty of shield and health regeneration because you’re likely to take multiple hits before defeating an opponent.
Search everywhere you can
A key part of gaining experience is scavenging for loot across the map. As you explore buildings or open areas, you’ll notice a white dot indicating searchable objects. Even if it seems unlikely you’ll find anything useful, you should search every spot—each search gives you 200 experience points.
Plus, searching any Arc machine, such as an Arc Courier or a Probe, can grant you over 500 experience points each, making it a great farming method for leveling up.
Fight Arc machines when you’re ready
In the early part of the game, it’s best to avoid Arc machines since they can be tough to beat and might expose your location to others. But once you feel confident, you should start fighting these robots to earn experience points for damaging and destroying them.
Arc machines are common in the upper level, and simple enemies like wasps and hornets can be taken out with just a few shots. The main thing is to avoid getting overwhelmed by multiple machines at once, as that can easily lead to defeat. As you get more comfortable, fighting these robots becomes a good way to gain experience and improve your gameplay.
