When exploring Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, you’ll come across Broken Beacons in chests or dropped by enemies. These beacons do nothing on their own, but you can repair them at the Factory when you return to base. Once fixed, they help you locate the long-forgotten Arsenals of fallen soldiers, allowing you to reclaim their powerful gear if you find the right spots.
Your first Broken Beacon might be tricky if you’re unfamiliar with how it works, as there are a few things to keep in mind. This guide is here to help.
Fixing Broken Beacons
When you find a Broken Beacon, you can restore it using the Factory at your base. Repairing a beacon costs 1,000 credits plus some Flat Cables and Storage Chips, usually between one and three of each. The more resources needed, the better the rewards tend to be.
Note: Flat Cables are common drops from enemies, while Storage Chips are less frequent but still obtainable.
After repairing a beacon, it will reveal a distorted section of the map that shows where its linked Arsenal is located. You can make the map easier to read by upgrading your base’s Restoration features with Civetta.
Beacon and Arsenal Locations
Beacons and their cache locations are randomly generated each time. There are no fixed coordinates to jump straight to. Also, an Arsenal linked to a beacon won’t appear until the beacon is repaired, so you won’t find one just wandering around.
The good news is that there will always be broken beacons to repair and new loot to find.
Using a Repaired Beacon
Once a beacon is fixed, look for the matching region on your map. If you haven’t explored that area yet, it will appear blank. However, you can often identify the region by nearby landmarks like roads or some inaccessible areas that are blacked out.
You can track only one beacon at a time. Select your target from the Beacons List and set it as your Exploration Area. When you reach the indicated spot, your minimap will start giving you green pings. The more frequent the pings, the closer you are to the hidden Arsenal.
Important: The minimap only pings for the beacon you currently have set as your Exploration Area. If you’re near another beacon, you’ll need to switch to that one to get signals.
Finding the Loot
The hidden Arsenal is typically very hard to see — just a small arm sticking out of the ground. When you’re close, activate Search Mode to scan the area. The arm will highlight in your vision, making it much easier to locate and dig up.
Like other loot caches, you can only take one item from the Arsenal. There might be several good options to choose from, so pick wisely. Once you’ve looted the Arsenal, the beacon will be removed from your inventory because it has served its purpose.
