“Borderlands 4” offers a lot of content, including many side missions spread across a large open-world map. One of these quests involves a Psycho named Topper. His name might seem unusual at first, but it fits once you see he’s missing his lower half.
Topper has mechanical legs, which he calls Leggies, but they’ve been stolen from him. It’s up to you and your fellow vault hunters to recover them by any means necessary. Here’s a breakdown of the “Gone Are My Leggies” quest.
### Step 1: Climb The Lighthouse
Your journey begins by talking to Topper at Boglight Vigilance. He’s a peculiar character with a wild Irish accent and no lower body. Although he has mechanical legs, he calls them Leggies, and they seem to have a mind of their own—they start climbing the nearby lighthouse.
Using your jumps and grapple hook, you need to reach the top of the lighthouse. Once you get there, a large Griffin-like creature called The Beastie swoops in. It grabs Leggies and flies away, starting the chase.
### Step 2: Kill The Beastie
After The Beastie takes off, you can follow it using a vehicle. If you lose sight of it, the quest marker on your compass will help you track it, though it’s fast and hard to keep up with. The chase ends at its lair at Idolator’s Noose, where you can start shooting at it with your guns.
Because The Beastie stays airborne most of the time and stays at a distance, it’s best to use an assault rifle for effective fire. Alternatively, you can retreat to lure it closer or wait for an opening to pick it off with sniper rounds.
Your fight with The Beastie won’t be solo; other Kratch creatures will swarm the area. It might be frustrating to deal with multiple flying enemies, but leaving them alive is beneficial—if you get knocked out, you can quickly kill one to revive yourself.
### Step 3: Bring Leggies Back To Topper
After defeating The Beastie, you can interact with Leggies and reassure them they’re safe now. Leggies will then lead you back to Topper. Just follow them and take out any enemies along the way. Leggies will even assist in combat by spinning and diving to attack enemies.
When you return to Boglight Vigilance, Topper will come down on a lift, thanks you for your help, and the quest will be complete. With his legs restored, you’ve reunited man and machine. Though the quest ends here, you might see Topper and Leggies again in future missions.
In addition to money and XP, completing the quest rewards you with a new sniper rifle and a vehicle paint job.
