As you play Borderlands 4, you’ll encounter thousands of guns. Some will deal high damage, while others may have abilities that boost certain qualities of your build. However, your inventory space is limited, so you might have to leave behind a weapon you like when you pick up new ones.

Luckily, in Borderlands 4, you can find ways to retrieve missed guns from specific locations. Lost Loot Machines are key to this, giving you a chance to access every weapon in the game. Understanding how these machines work will help you make the most of them.

### How to Find Lost Loot Machines

You can find these machines in the Faction Towns spread across Kairos. For example, towns like The Launchpad in The Howl, Belton’s Bore in The Low Leys, and Carcadia in the Ruined Swamplands all have a Lost Loot Machine.

In addition, other safehouses are good spots to locate them, such as:
– The Lockaway in The Carcadia District
– Sumpview Falls in the Fades District
– The Food Court in the Terminus District

Once you access these areas, you’ll be able to pick up the weapons you’ve found during your adventure—assuming there’s enough space in your backpack.

### How to Use the Lost Loot Machine

When you arrive at a faction town or safehouse, the Lost Loot Machine will be ready for use. Interact with it to browse all the weapons you’ve collected. The machine has filters at the top to help sort through your gear.

Keep in mind, like your backpack, the machine has a limited number of slots. Once it’s full, any new weapons you find won’t be added and will stay where you found them.

### How to Increase the Lost Loot Machine’s Inventory Space

You can expand the machine’s capacity by finding and spending SDU (Storage Deck Upgrade) Tokens. These tokens are similar to Eridium—found in various ways—but the amount you earn at a time varies.

To gather more SDU Tokens quickly, focus on capturing Safehouses and Order Silos, each providing at least 40 tokens per activity. Side activities like Evocarium Puzzles and Abandoned Aruger Mines can also give small amounts of tokens, but the fastest way remains capturing key locations.

### How to Spend SDU Tokens

Once you have enough tokens, upgrade the Lost Loot Machine by going to the SDU tab from the main menu. Here, you can enhance features like weapons, your bank, or backpack space.

When upgrading, note that weapons outside the Ordnance category—such as grenade mods and heavy weapons—can’t have their charges or ammo capacity increased. To expand your inventory, select the machine at the bottom of the upgrade list. Keep in mind, each upgrade raises the cost by ten SDU Tokens, so increasing capacity requires more tokens each time.

### Improving the Machine and Inventory Capacity

As you buy upgrades, the machine’s slots grow, allowing you to store more weapons. To maximize your storage, regularly farm for SDU Tokens by capturing safehouses, activity points, and collecting specific items like Lost Capsules or Vault Symbols—these give small token rewards.

Unlocking these locations also offers fast-travel points, making your farming efficient. Be sure to spend your tokens on the SDU upgrades to keep your weapon collection stocked and your inventory spacious.
