### How to Earn Reputation Points
Reputation acts like a special currency that works similarly to experience points, but it’s specific to each faction. The game has several factions across the map, and each one has a reputation meter showing your current standing with them.
To improve your reputation, you need to collect either insignias or letters of favor. Insignias are gained by defeating members of Blackbeard’s crew, while letters of favor are earned by completing quests for various factions.
There are different types of insignias, each worth a different number of points. Below are the types you can collect and how many reputation points they grant when turned in:
| Insignia Type | Reputation Points |
|————————|————————|
| Newhand Insignia | +1 Point |
| Deckhand Insignia | +4 Points |
| Veteran Insignia | +20 Points |
| Old Salt Insignia | +80 Points |
| Letter of Favor | +10 Points |
### Faction Level and Reputation Milestones
Your reputation can also help you level up with each faction. The levels are as follows:
| Faction Level | Reputation Needed |
|————–|——————————|
| Level 1 | 0 points |
| Level 2 | 100 points |
| Level 3 | 300 points |
| Level 4 | 600 points |
Reaching these levels unlocks various rewards such as new clothing, upgrades, and building schematics. While each faction offers unique rewards, increasing your reputation requires dedication and persistent grinding. Maxing out your relationships with all factions will take significant effort, but the benefits include a stronger base and access to better gear and schematics.
