Even on the beautiful island of Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, you still need some money to keep things running. You’ll spend your cash on everything from ham sandwiches to hammocks, giving your Miis a place to relax after a busy day of playing tag.
However, money doesn’t come easily; you’ll need to earn it through various simple methods. Expensive items like apartment upgrades and outdoor furniture can quickly drain your funds, so here are some quick ways to earn cash daily on this Switch-only game.
### Visit the Foundation for Donations
Once you have at least six Miis living on your island, they start leaving money at the fountain each morning. The amount may start small, in the double digits, but as your population grows, so does the daily gift.
You’ll choose your preferred currency when you start the game, usually matching your region. While these donations won’t make you rich, they’re enough to buy new food, outfits, and a few decorating items. Best of all, it’s a reliable way to earn cash without any effort on your part.
### Sell Your Junk
As you progress, you’ll get prompted to build a pawn shop called Rite Price, where you can sell unwanted items. Many junk items like tissue boxes or toilet paper—things that often come from losing mini-games—serve no real purpose and can be sold for small profit.
You’ll also get useful items by catching glimpses of Miis’ dreams, which can sometimes reward you with specific objects to sell. Junk ranges from bent spoons to ancient goblets, with prices from just twenty cents to hundreds of dollars. Visiting the pawn shop when your inventory is full could turn your trash into treasure.
### Keep Creating Miis
You might not have enough ideas to come up with seventy unique Miis for your island, but it’s worth trying. The more different Miis you make, the more daily interactions you’ll have—most of which will earn you money, varying from a few dollars to several dozen.
Checking in on your Miis daily and meeting their needs also adds up in cash. The larger your island’s population, the more income you’ll accumulate over time.
### Make Your Miis Happy
Once your Miis are satisfied, they’ll be more willing to give you money, especially after feeding them or helping them make friends. Buying new clothes or decorating their apartments also boosts your cash flow.
Happiness is key, and the more you do to keep your Miis content, the easier it is to earn small amounts of money. Since money flows freely once they’re happy, taking care of their needs is a simple way to build your funds without much trouble.
