Enjoying a few drinks can be fun in moderation, but sometimes people go a little too far. In Borderlands 4, there’s a side mission where you help the local Psychos recover from their excessive partying.
To stop their antics, you’ll need more than just water and sleep. Teaming up with a moonshiner, you’ll create the best hangover cure. Here’s how to complete the Hangover Helper side mission, including what ingredients you need and where to find them.
Talk To Ole Shammy
Start by speaking with Iris to begin the quest. She can be found north of the Abandoned Post in the Coastal Bonescape and looks clearly intoxicated. After talking to her, you’ll be directed to Ole Shammy to the east. As you approach, you’ll unlock Shammy’s Shack and meet the moonshiner in his bar. He’ll tell you he can make a hangover cure if you bring him certain ingredients, starting with some fruit on nearby cliffs.
Where To Gather Fruit
Head north and climb the cliffs following the waypoints. You’ll encounter a group of Kratch. Feel free to fight them or just focus on collecting the fruit—getting in and out quickly is fine. The fruit grows along the rock face and is bright green. When close, use your hook to pull the fruit towards you. Collect all four pieces from two marked areas on your HUD and return to Shammy.
When back at the shack, Shammy will tell you to place the fruit in a tub and smash it with a ground pound. After that, you need to grab a geyser nugget.
How To Open The Geyser
Next, move east to find a geyser. Ground pound it to make it erupt, then wait for a red chunk of rock to eject. Use your lasso to grab this chunk and head back to Shammy. Throw the geyser nugget into the pot to continue with the recipe.
Where To Farm Manglers For Glands
The last ingredient is nine mangler scent glands. Go northwest to caves where manglers appear. Fight the manglers and collect their blue glands as they pop out of their corpses. After a few minutes, they will stop spawning, and you’ll need to move to a second marked area on your HUD to gather the remaining glands. Once you have all nine glands, return to Shammy, who will prepare the final cure and suggest testing it on some nearby drunks.
Cure Some Hangovers (And Do A Little Murder)
With the cure ready, place the keg on top of the tower and interact with the microphone to tell everyone to gather underneath. Shoot the keg to dump the drink on them, which will sober them up. The partygoers won’t be happy about getting sober, and they will turn hostile. Keep your distance and use your ranged attacks to take them out. Once all are defeated, the mission ends.
After completing the quest, you’ll earn a pistol, a vehicle paint job, and a gun skin. These rewards can be found in your inventory’s rewards section.
