To survive the treacherous open world of Crimson Desert, you need to collect Abyss Artifacts that enhance Kliff’s abilities. While battling enemies and completing quests will earn you some artifacts, a more efficient method is solving Abyss puzzles scattered across different sky islands.
One such puzzle is the Monolith Crown, accessible after defeating the Crowcaller boss and completing Chapter 5. This puzzle is among the most challenging you’ll encounter. Here’s a step-by-step guide to solving it and earning an Abyss Artifact with ease.
Monolith Crown Solution
You can only access this puzzle after conquering the Crowcaller. Doing so unlocks a triangular gate at the back right corner of the island entrance, leading to this area. Once there, cross the floating debris to reach the Abyss Gate. Use the fast travel point nearby, then enter the large room with a floating cube at its center.
Ignore the cube initially and head toward the large altar, where the Abyss Artifact will appear once the puzzle is solved. From the altar, look left to see two floating platforms just below the main island. Jump onto the platform illuminated by a spotlight on the wall. Turn around and look back at the altar.
You’ll notice a floating yellow switch that can be attached to your Axiom Force power. Connecting to this switch will change your camera view to focus on the cube, allowing you to rotate and move it. Your goal is to align the laser beams emitted from the cube to hit various yellow switches positioned around it.
This task is simpler than it appears if you follow a specific sequence of rotations. You can rotate both the camera and the cube freely; however, some steps require rotating the camera first to direct the laser beams correctly before rotating the cube.

Final Step: Disengage from the controls and return to the main island. Approach the large circular switch on the ground, crouch, and perform a Force Palm strike to slam it down. This action completes the Monolith Crown puzzle, spawning an Abyss Artifact at the altar. You can then pass through the triangular gate to continue your journey through the Crescent Skybridge.
