The vault hunters of the Borderlands universe are usually focused on finding loot, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have some fun too.
Borderlands 4 introduces the Finway Cup, a triathlon open to everyone, with challenges different from those in the real world.
This brief quest tests your navigation skills by having you move through water and land, and then showcase some quick reflexes for the final part. Here’s a guide to completing the Finway Cup side mission.
Complete the Swimming Course
After talking to Orts in the Hungering Plain, your triathlon begins once you reach the starting point. Follow the objective marker, then jump off a cliff into the water below.
The water is farther away than it looks, so double jump and use your glide pack to reach it. You have three minutes and 45 seconds to finish the course. When you hit the water, start swimming immediately. Your compass will clearly show you the correct direction, along with illuminated gates to guide you through the course.
Complete the Vehicle Course
Once you arrive on land, hop into a vehicle. Like with swimming, gates will show you where to go, but on land, you can be more creative with your route. While the course mostly recommends following the roads, you can take shortcuts by passing through all the checkpoints. Cutting corners is a smart way to save time!
Be aware that you’ll likely drive past enemies along the way. Don’t worry about fighting them; focus on the clock.
Put The Doohicky Through The Thingamabob
The final part of the challenge involves throwing a doohicky (a ball) through a hole. The driving segment ends just above where you started. Grab the doohicky, then sprint to your left. Jump off the cliff, toss the ball through the hole, and you’ll complete the cup!
Even though the side quest’s description says you’ll only earn money and XP after finishing, you’ll also get plenty of loot when you win the event.
