If you’re after Entropy in Hades 2, you’re close to reaching what is considered the technical end of the story. By this point, you should have completed multiple runs through both the Olympus and Underworld routes and unlocked the Dissolution of Time spell.
When you unlock this spell and Disintegration of Monstrosity, each will require a special ingredient to cast. These ingredients are different, and you’ll need to finish Disintegration of Monstrosity before you can complete Dissolution of Time.
How to Cast Disintegration of Monstrosity and Unlock Entropy
As mentioned earlier, the special item needed for Dissolution of Time—Entropy—can only be obtained after casting Disintegration of Monstrosity. Every time you’ve tried to defeat Typhon, he’s never truly been defeated, and there’s a good reason for that.
To finally defeat him for good, you must cast Disintegration of Monstrosity and then fight Typhon one last time. To do this, you’ll need the following items:
Image | Item Needed | How to Get It |
---|---|---|
4x V-lens | Each time you defeat Typhon, you get one V-lens. You need four to proceed. | |

1x Z-sand | Collected each time you defeat Chronos. While one Z-sand is enough for the spell, you’ll need five for Dissolution of Time. So, you’ll need to defeat Chronos at least six times. |

1x Mystery Item (Gigaros) | This turns out to be Hades’ spear. After defeating Chronos multiple times and chatting with Zagreus, he will eventually suggest how to beat Typhon. He’ll leave Hades’ spear in his room for you to collect after your sixth run with Chronos. |
Once you gather everything to cast Disintegration of Monstrosity, cast it and then do a surface run back to Olympus.
Gaining the Mystery Item for Dissolution of Time
Obtaining Gigaros will reveal the mystery item for Dissolution of Time: Entropy. When you reach Typhon again, this final battle will be different—you will defeat him once and for all. After this defeat, Typhon will drop his essence, Entropy.
How to Cast Dissolution of Time
Now that you have Entropy, you likely also have enough Z-sand, since by this stage, collecting five is straightforward. With everything in hand, you can cast Dissolution of Time.
Once cast, things play out similarly to your previous fight with Typhon. Finish one last run in the Underworld to face Chronos for the final time. This run will be distinct from earlier ones, indicating you’re nearing the story’s conclusion.
After defeating Chronos with Dissolution of Time active, you’ll be taken directly to the ending scene. You’ll see the ending credits of Hades 2, but the game isn’t truly over if you want to keep playing. Plenty of post-game content remains for you to explore.
