Cyclonemon is a boss Digimon you’ll encounter during the Resonating Thoughts mission in Digimon Story: Time Stranger. During this fight, you’re trying to protect Elecmon, which Inori seems to be connected with, but suddenly Titan Cyclonemon ambushes you.
While Cyclonemon isn’t the most vital Digimon in the game, this battle marks a key moment in the story. If you need tips or suggestions for your team, this guide covers everything about facing Cyclonemon.
### Cyclonemon’s Strengths, Weaknesses, and Attacks
Cyclonemon is a Virus-type Digimon. This makes it weak to Vaccine-type Digimon but resistant to Data-type attacks. It’s vulnerable to Wind and Ice attacks but resists Fire and Earth. Other elemental attacks do normal damage.
Its main moves include Bunmawashi, which hits one target physically, and Awesome Quake I, dealing Earth damage to all your team members. A few turns into the fight, Cyclonemon uses Hyper Heat on Elecmon, knocking it out and triggering a cutscene.
Once Elecmon Digivolves into Aegiomon, Hyper Heat switches to Fire damage on a single target and reduces their Fire Resistance. Cyclonemon then gains Double Actions (allowing it to attack twice per turn) and adds Acceleration Boost, which raises its physical attack.
> These two buffs are dangerous. Acceleration Boost makes Bunmawashi much stronger, and Double Actions means Cyclonemon can buff itself and attack again before you get a chance to defend or heal.
Fortunately, Aegiomon accompanies you with Attract Echo and Wind Claw I. Attract Echo draws all attacks onto Aegiomon and boosts its evasion, letting it soak up some hits for your team. Wind Claw is especially effective since Cyclonemon is weak to Wind, and with Aegiomon’s Vaccine attribute, Wind Claw hits for triple damage.
### Recommended Digimon To Use
For this fight, it’s best to bring at least two or three Vaccine-type Digimon. Your team should ideally be around level 7 for the best chance of success, but lower levels can work if you have good Attachment Skills and elemental strengths. For example, Agumon, a Vaccine Digimon resistant to Earth damage, can perform well even at lower levels.
Other strong options include Gomamon, which learns Icicle Edge I at level 2, and Tapirmon, which gets Heal at level 2. Both are Vaccine types too, so they deal extra damage to Cyclonemon.
If you bring Agumon, Gomamon, and Tapirmon along with the evolved Aegiomon, the fight becomes more manageable. This battle highlights Aegiomon’s abilities, so take advantage of your Cross Arts attacks whenever possible, and you’ll bring Cyclonemon down quickly.
