Everyone gets the munchies sometimes. When you’re navigating the challenges in Peak across different levels, your stamina might run out, and hunger will start to take over your mind. The game offers a strange but helpful solution for this situation.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. You can now eat other players. Yes, you heard that right — you can eat your friends’ faces. Doing this might buy some extra time for one of you to reach the next checkpoint or bonfire. Better them than you, right?
Cannibalism, Explained
Here’s what you need to know about this option. When your hunger gets too high, and your stamina is almost gone, you can choose to eat another player. This act will fully restore your stamina, but it comes with a cost. Eating someone will cause a Curse to be placed on you, which you can only remove by using either a Pandora’s Lunchbox or a Cure All.
Note: Pandora’s Lunchbox isn’t a guaranteed fix. Opening it can trigger a random effect that might not always be beneficial.
And remember, once you eat a teammate, they will die. But don’t worry — you can bring them back later by resurrecting them at a Stone Effigy, just like any fallen teammate.
How to Commit Cannibalism
You can only eat other survivors when your Hunger level is between 70% and 80%. When your hunger hits that range, you might start seeing hallucinations, and your friends’ appearances could change randomly, making them look like roasted chickens.
When that happens, the game will prompt you with the option to eat them. Doing so will instantly kill your friend and turn them into a skeleton, restoring your stamina fully. Sorry, friends — but it’s all in the game.
