While searching for Lizzie at the zoo in High on Life 2, you encounter several bounty hunters determined to kill her. The main enemy is Reptical, a lizard who loves skateboarding. He appears friendly, but you must fight him to protect Lizzie, marking your first major boss battle in the game. As a skilled bounty hunter, he can be a tough opponent. Here’s a guide to help you defeat him more easily.
Reptical’s moves:
The main thing he does during the fight is skate around the area while shooting at you. He uses a burst-fire weapon that quickly fires multiple large projectiles. Since the projectiles are big, you can see them coming and often dodge them.
He also throws bombs regularly. These bombs explode into clouds of poisonous gas, which are more dangerous than his gunfire. Be sure to avoid the gas clouds at all costs.
In addition, he releases large amounts of green gas into parts of the arena. The gas fills certain areas, and you can’t do much about it except avoid these spots. Unfortunately, this reduces the space you have to move around during the battle.
How To Defeat Reptical:
To fight him effectively, use the skateboard you’ve learned to ride just before the fight. This helps you keep pace with Reptical’s speed, allowing you to chase him and shoot him while staying in attack range. Using your skateboard is the standard strategy, but don’t feel limited—try different tactics too.
One of his more effective methods is when he uses the Time Bubble attack. Aim it slightly in front of him while he’s moving at full speed. This will slow him down significantly for a few seconds, giving you a good window to land some hits. Gus, your companion, is especially useful here since he deals a lot of damage with each hit.
When Reptical is weakened enough, you’ll get opportunities to approach and perform melee attacks on him. These close-range hits can deal significant damage, especially if you manage to cut off his arm. Taking out his arm is a major hit to his fighting ability, so make the most of these chances.
Keep repeating these tactics—dodging his projectiles and gas clouds, using the Time Bubble attack to slow him, and closing in for melee strikes—until his health drops to zero and you emerge victorious.
