In Week 2 of Season 2, the Trials in Arc Raiders are back with a new set of challenges. To earn free loot, you need to complete five different tasks and earn three stars on each. Successfully doing so will earn you Epic-tier items and may also boost your Trial rank, unlocking exclusive cosmetics at season’s end.
Remember, to count your progress towards three stars, you must actually exfiltrate after completing each challenge. If you die before extracting, all your effort for that challenge will be reset, and you’ll need to try again.
This guide assumes you’re doing these challenges during Night, Electromagnetic, Cold Snap, or Hidden Bunker missions, which give double experience for stars. While you can attempt them in regular runs, map events during these special missions make earning three stars much easier.
Throw Snowballs At Rocketeers Trial
For this challenge, you must hit a Rocketeer with at least 16 snowballs in one Cold Snap event round. This can be tricky because Rocketeers deal a lot of damage, can fly, and actively hunt players they see attacking them.
I recommend doing this on either Dam Battlegrounds or The Blue Gate map. Dam Battlegrounds offers lots of cover, making it safer to approach Rocketeers, while The Blue Gate tends to have more snowball piles. To get snowballs, look for small piles of snow with a stick sticking out. Approach, interact, and pick up a snowball. You can keep gathering from the same pile, stacking up to five snowballs each time. Aim to gather around 20–25 snowballs to have spares.
Once prepared, find a safe hiding spot and attract the Rocketeer’s attention. When it starts attacking, throw some snowballs from cover. Wait until it disengages, then pop out and hit it a few more times. This approach takes patience but keeps you safe. You can track your progress anytime in the logbook.
Deal Damage To Shredders Trial
To complete this challenge, you need to fully destroy three Shredders on the Stella Montis map. Shredders received a buff this season, making them tougher and more aggressive, but they can still be managed with the right approach.
Recommended weapons include those strong against ARC enemies, such as the Anvil, Bettina, Hullcracker, or Ferro. If you’re on a budget, Ferro works well, but an Anvil is preferable if available. Wolfpack grenades are also effective but may be inconsistent due to the map’s enclosed spaces.
Good locations for targeting Shredders are Medical, Sandlot, Cultural Archives, and Lobby, as they frequently spawn at these points. Moving between these spots may be necessary.
The key to damaging Shredders is targeting their thrusters—the small, glowing parts on their backs—since hitting these causes the most damage and disrupts their movement. Remember that Shredders cannot open doors; use this to your advantage by closing doors behind them. Held at close range, they deal serious damage, so position yourself carefully.
Deal Damage To Flying ARC Enemies Trial
This challenge involves damaging and destroying flying ARC enemies, including Wasps, Hornets, Snitches, Rocketeers, and Surveyors. Any combination counts, so choose your targets based on your gear.
If you’re well-equipped, focusing on Rocketeers can be quick—usually just two hits will take them down. For those with less gear, sticking to smaller flying enemies like Wasps, Hornets, and Snitches is easier and more efficient since these are plentiful.
The Hidden Bunker event is an excellent opportunity for this, as friendly players activate satellites and spawn many flying ARC enemies.
For map preference, Spaceport remains my top choice, especially the Arrival or Departure Buildings, which provide good vantage points and safety. Use weapons like the Anvil, Ferro, or Renegade for this task to maximize range and stopping power.
Open ARC Probes Trial
Here, your goal is to search through three different ARC Probes on the map. Even though it says “open” in the challenge, progress is made by actively searching the probes, not merely opening them.
Maps like Spaceport or The Blue Gate are ideal because their open sightlines make spotting probe crash sites easier. Look for dark plumes of smoke, which typically indicate where probes have fallen. Listening for the beeping sounds of the probes can also help pinpoint their locations.
Destroy Fireballs Trial
For this challenge, you need to destroy between 7 and 8 Fireballs in a single raid. Stella Montis is the best map for this, as Fireballs are abundant across the map.
Focus your efforts on these areas: Assembly, Medical, Lobby, and Atrium. Each of these locations tends to have 3–5 Fireballs roaming around, making it straightforward to reach the target number.
Any weapon can be used here. Wait for the Fireball to open its shell and expose the white core, then shoot to destroy it and cause nearby flames. After eliminating enough Fireballs, head to the extraction point to complete the challenge and earn your stars.
