Like most modern survival horror games, Silent Hill f isn’t very long. Instead of offering an open world with endless options, Konami focuses on telling a straightforward, tightly woven story with a small group of characters.
There are some collectibles to find, upgrades to unlock, and multiple New Game Plus runs that provide extra story content and additional endings. Your first time playing through Silent Hill f is mainly about experiencing the story for the first time, leaving you with many questions afterward. Here’s an estimate of how long it generally takes.
Silent Hill f features tough combat and tricky puzzles, which can take a while to get through. This depends on whether you choose the ‘Story’ or ‘Hard’ difficulty setting. Our own playthrough on Hard took about ten hours, including times when we got lost in large dungeons and spent extra time solving difficult puzzles.
Your total time may vary based on your experience with survival horror games and your puzzle-solving skills.
After completing the game once, the ‘Lost in The Fog’ difficulty unlocks, offering more challenging combat and puzzles, which will likely make the game take even longer.
For most players, the first run will probably take between eight to twelve hours. But that’s just the start. To see the entire story and unlock all four additional endings, you’ll need to play through the game multiple times.
Silent Hill f has a total of five endings. Four are unlocked after your first playthrough by completing the campaign, and the fifth becomes available after finishing New Game Plus. The game clearly outlines what you need to do to unlock each ending in the main menu, so it’s helpful to know what to aim for.
Seeing everything the game has to offer, including all collectibles and endings, will likely require around 30 to 40 hours. You can skip cutscenes you’ve already seen and replay sections quickly, making full completion more manageable if you’re experienced.
