Warriors: Abyss unexpectedly launched on all platforms soon after the latest State of Play, marking it as one of the year’s first surprise releases. If you enjoy roguelikes, this game is a must-try, combining elements from titles like Hades and Vampire Survivors for an exhilarating gameplay experience.
With an impressive roster of 100 Heroes to choose from—yes, you heard correctly—there are countless build options and upgrades waiting for you as you venture further into the game’s depths. One of the standout upgrades is Unique Weapons, which help your favorite Hero reach their full potential!
What Are Unique Weapons?
Before diving into how to get Unique Weapons in Warriors: Abyss, it’s important to understand what they are and why they are essential for maximizing your Heroes’ capabilities. Each Hero in the game has access to a Unique Weapon that provides special bonuses when acquired, making them ideal for creating targeted builds.
For instance, Wang Yi’s Unique Weapon is called Illusion Piercer and gives her a 50% increase in Attack when used with Freeze. This means you’ll want to focus on getting Freeze Emblems to make the most of this Unique Weapon. Additionally, destroying enemy projectiles increases her Musou Gauge by 1%, which is a nice perk.
While Wang Yi can still use Freeze builds without the Illusion Piercer, her effectiveness is considerably lower; she would only be able to utilize her Bewitching Flower of Vengeance, which charges her Assemble Gauge when she freezes enemies. Although that’s powerful, combining that with a 50% Attack boost turns her into a formidable force. Therefore, acquiring Unique Weapons should be a top priority for your preferred Heroes!
How to Get Unique Weapons
The primary method for obtaining Unique Weapons in Warriors: Abyss is through Treasure Chests during your many attempts to conquer the game’s challenges. These chests only appear when you complete Missions from Mission Portals, which are easily recognizable by their Treasure Chest icon and a red message saying, ‘A Mission has appeared!’
When you enter a Mission Portal, you’ll need to defeat a specific number of enemies, but instead of presenting you with more Portals afterward, Enma will appear with your Mission details. These Missions can vary in difficulty, ranging from eliminating 100 foes within 45 seconds to taking down designated targets and more. Some are considerably easier than others, so stay sharp.
Upon successfully completing the Mission, a Treasure Chest will appear next to the Crystal Sapling, giving you the opportunity to claim whatever treasures it contains. Unfortunately, the contents are always a mystery; you might find a Unique Weapon, an Emblem, Karma Embers, or some Juicy Meat—it’s all up to luck. You could even receive Unique Weapons for Heroes you haven’t unlocked yet, which just adds to the frustration!
Buying Unique Weapons
If you prefer not to leave your fate to chance, you can still acquire Unique Weapons in Warriors: Abyss. The good news is, you can buy them, but there’s a drawback. If you want a Unique Weapon outside of the Treasure Chest loot, you’ll need to spend 50,000 Karma Embers.
Yes, you read that right—getting a Unique Weapon for a single Hero costs a hefty amount of 50,000 Karma Embers. This is quite a bit to spend, especially when you can use those resources to unlock more Heroes, which is especially crucial early in the game. It’s best to hold off on purchasing Unique Weapons until you’ve unlocked everything in the Hall of Bonded Souls.
If you’re not aware, acquiring a new Hero gives permanent stat boosts for every Hero in the game, which significantly eases your future runs. Thus, saving your Karma Embers for just one Unique Weapon isn’t advisable, regardless of how tempting those bonuses may be. Once you’ve unlocked everything in the upgrade tree and finished the game, you can definitely aim for Unique Weapons!
As you progress deeper into the game, you’ll eventually amass a lot of Karma Embers. This means you can likely acquire everything needed in the Hall of Bonded Souls faster than you think, allowing you to focus on earning Unique Weapons once you’re consistently defeating the final boss!
