While walking through the woods south of Hernand early in the morning in Crimson Desert, you might notice some floating flowerpots. If you move closer, a group of children will pop out from the bushes, shoot you with tranquilizer darts, and carry your unconscious body a short distance away.
What actually happened is that you entered a hidden area called Pororin Forest. To explore or pass through this area, you must earn the local residents’ (called Shai) trust. This can be tricky, especially if you’re just trying to reach some quest markers further south. Luckily, there’s a simple side quest you can complete to gain access to Pororin Forest.
How to Enter Pororin Forest Village
Complete “The Unreachable Village”
In order to get into Pororin Forest Village, you need to talk to some nearby Shai. They’ll agree to let you in if you do them a favor. You might see a quest marker when you first try to enter the village, but you won’t succeed immediately. Find Arkin, who’s relaxing on a tree stump with some other Shai, and talk to him.
They’ll tell you they’ve lost a treasured relic, which is actually the village chief’s hat. Return the hat to them, and they’ll tell the villagers you’re their friend. After that, they’ll welcome you whenever you visit.
How to Complete “The Unreachable Village”
Find the Pororin Relic
The problem is that the chief’s hat has been taken by a giant walking tree. To get it back, you’ll need to climb atop the tree. The tree moves around the area a little, but it’s easy to find by standing at the quest marker for a few minutes.
You can try climbing its legs, but its movements make it hard to stay attached, and you might run out of stamina. Instead, climb up a nearby cliff and jump off to glide onto the tree trunk.

Don’t climb too high or too far, or you might run out of stamina. The tree passes close to the cliffs near the quest marker, so as long as you’re close enough, you can land on top easily. Use your lantern to spot the relic—the hat—then pick it up. Finally, return to the tree stump, show the hat to the Shai, and continue your journey.
Once you’re allowed into Pororin, you’ll unlock a new dye shop where you can change the colors of your gear. There’s also a Research Institute where you can pay the Shai to learn new recipes and get permanent boosts to your gathering skills. More importantly, opening Pororin allows you to travel through these woods freely on your way to other parts of Crimson Desert.
