In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, swords and bows are your primary weapons, but occasionally you’ll need other tools. One such tool is a spade, which isn’t particularly useful in combat but serves essential purposes in the game.
Firstly, if you’re considering grave robbing, a spade is a must. You’ll need it to dig up graves to retrieve items left behind, but be cautious—make sure no one is watching you. While this isn’t something you’re likely to want to do frequently, you’ll need to excavate a grave or two during the storyline.
Finding a Spade
If you need a spade in the Trosky region, especially during the quest to locate the Hermit and his sword, there’s a dependable place to find one.
Simply head to the graveyard east of Troskowitz, which is not far from the path leading out of town. You’ll see a spade resting on a building inside the graveyard. Pick it up, but make sure no one is watching you.
Generally, any graveyard near a town is a reliable spot to find a spade.
Once you snag a spade from the graveyard, it will remain in your inventory throughout the game, unless you drop or sell it. If you’d prefer not to carry it at all times, you can store it in your horse’s inventory.
Purchasing a Spade
If you can’t find a spade to grab, you’ll need to purchase one from a merchant. Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific location guaranteed to have spades like with herbs or potions. You’ll come across various merchants who sell them.
Look for miners, traders, or innkeepers at local taverns, as these types of vendors have a higher likelihood of selling spades. You’ll need to explore towns to discover which ones offer this item.
The good news is that spades aren’t pricey. You can expect to spend around six Groschen or so to buy one, and it will stay in your inventory until you decide to drop it.
