The PlayStation Store offers a variety of PS5 demos for upcoming titles, ranging from popular series like Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties to smaller indie games such as Dark Auction. These demos give PS5 players the chance to try out new games before making a purchase decision, including a highly anticipated PS2 remake coming soon.
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced that a free demo for Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake will be available on PS5 starting March 5. Players who enjoy the demo can transfer their save data to the full game. The recently released teaser trailer provides a glimpse of the remake, highlighting the updated visuals and details about different editions of the game.
In Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, twin sisters find themselves trapped in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits. Armed only with the Camera Obscura, a device capable of capturing and sealing away supernatural entities, they navigate this eerie landscape. The remake features new gameplay elements, a fresh ending with the song “Utsushie” composed by Tsuki Amano, as well as new side quests and locations to explore.
Additionally, a free DLC for the game will be released, featuring content inspired by the critically acclaimed 2023 survival horror game Silent Hill f. Further details about this collaboration DLC will be shared in the coming weeks.
The game will officially launch for PS5 on March 16, priced at $49.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition also will be available for $69.99, which includes a digital art book, soundtrack, and various cosmetic items. Preorders for any edition will come with special bonus content.
