Dragon Quest Builders: A Guide to Completing Challenges

[keyword]

Dragon Quest Builders presents players with a variety of obstacles spread throughout the game’s four chapters. These tasks encompass combat with foes, puzzle-solving, and item collection. While they aren’t particularly difficult to achieve, some of the Dragon Quest Builders challenges can occasionally be somewhat perplexing.

This guide will delve into each challenge in Dragon Quest Builders and provide tips on how to accomplish them. Now, let’s dive right in.

Chapter 1 – Cantlin Challenges

In Chapter 1, you will encounter a total of four challenges. Your missions include defeating three dragons, constructing a garden, repairing the grove, and completing the entire chapter in under 20 in-game days.

1. Defeat the Three Dragons

You can find these dragons across the three initial islands. Each dragon remains stationary but possesses a couple of attacks: a melee-range tailspin strike and a fire-breath assault. The strategy is to place an evil idol near a dragon and let it inflict damage while you keep your distance. Below are the locations of the dragons:

Dragon #1 Location

The first dragon is located southeast of your base. Ascend the rocky structure, and you will find the dragon sleeping in the center of a meadow on the other side.

Dragon #2 Location

Dragon Quest Builders Challenges

The second dragon is located to the west of the starting area near a castle. Directly in front of the castle is a stone mountain you can climb. You’ll find this dragon sleeping on the other side.

Dragon #3 Location

For the third dragon, use the blue portal and move northwest. Climb the stone mountain to find the dragon on the other side.

2. Build the Cantlin Garden

Dragon Quest Builders Challenges

To create the Cantlin Garden, assemble a large room with the following items:

  • Bench
  • x10 Flowers
  • x5 Plants
  • x8 Water Blocks
  • Plumberry Tree
  • Brazier

Once you’ve put together these components, the challenge will automatically be completed. Note that a Plumberry Tree requires a full two nights to mature completely.

3. Repair the Hammerhood’s Grave

To complete this task, go through the red teleportal to a small island in the north and talk to Brownie. Once you’re done, return to Hammerhood, located at the southwest edge of the blue teleportal, to construct the memorials needed.

4. Complete the chapter within 20 days

To meet this challenge, finish the chapter within 20 in-game days. Be sure to accomplish all tasks promptly, and avoid sleeping or resting as these will eat away at your time.

Chapter 2 – Rimuldar Challenges

Chapter 2 once again presents you with four challenges. You will need to repair the roof, obtain the Crown Goowels, answer quiz questions, and complete this chapter within 30 days.

1. Fix the Roof of the Ruins

Dragon Quest Builders Challenges

After accessing the blue teleportal, head toward the building with the damaged roof, where you can find a chest. This will provide you with the necessary materials to rebuild the roof. Once finished, open the second chest to learn how to make adjustments.

2. Obtain Crown Goowels

Head through the green teleportal and fish until you catch a King Slime. Defeat this creature to earn the Crown Goowels.

3. Answer All of Thalamus’s Quizzes Correctly

1. Initial Area

To tackle the challenge of matching the rooms with the Drohl Drifter on the island, craft the following items:

  • x1 Washtub
  • x2 Pots
  • x1 Cookfire
  • x1 Pot Plant
  • x1 Torch

Once you’ve assembled these items, keep adjusting them until you see a blue flash. When all items are correctly placed, unlock the chests to collect white/other blocks and the stone axe.

2. Blue Teleportal

After entering the teleportal, head west, plant the palm seedling in the prepared soil, and collect gold and a blue block from the chests.

3. Red Teleportal

Upon entering the teleportal, proceed east of the Ancient Palace. Destroy the blocks from the center to the left, repositioning them to where the 3 would be on a clock. This will yield two evil idols and a red block.

4. Green Teleportal

After utilizing the teleportal, move south and place red, white, and blue blocks into their designated slots to complete the challenge.

4. Complete the chapter within 30 days

For the final challenge of this chapter, make sure to complete it within 30 days. Similar to the previous chapter, avoid excessive sleeping to stay within the time constraints.

Additionally, you will need to elevate your base to level 5 across all four chapters. Focus on building as much as possible to meet this requirement.

Chapter 3 – Kol and Galenholm Challenges

Chapter 3 also features four challenges. You’ll need to defeat all the troll bosses and giganteses, construct a spa, obtain the recipe for a lyre, and again, complete the chapter within 30 days.

1. Defeat All Boss Trolls and Gigantesses

To conquer this challenge, you’ll need excellent gear and evil idols for assistance. Once you’re ready, locate them at the following spots:

Boss Troll #1

The first troll is situated just south of your base.

Boss Troll #2

Enter the Red Teleportal, navigate to a cave in the north, and use blocks to block the evil idol’s flames. Once you’ve completed this task, enter the door and follow the blue tile path while fending off the Killing Machine and Hunter Mech. A short distance ahead, open the chest to finish the challenge.

4. Complete the chapter within 30 days

As with the previous chapters, ensure you complete this within 30 days. Avoid excessive sleeping to stay on schedule.

Final Chapter – Tantegel Challenges

This marks the final chapter and the concluding set of challenges in Dragon Quest Builders. You will need to defeat the Dragonlord without employing Legendary Weapons, locate the Sword of Ruin, present the Verdant Vision to King Slime, and complete the chapter in under 30 in-game days.

1. Defeat Dragonlord Without Legendary Weapons

You can utilize Auroral Armour and Hero’s Shield – considered Legendary Weapons – during the Dragonlord’s humanoid phase, but be sure to store them before the battle concludes.

2. Find the Sword of Ruin

To obtain the Sword of Ruin, go to the underground vault located behind the Tantegel Security Sign and head down to the lowest level to find it in a chest.

3. Give Verdant Vision to King Slime

Dragon Quest Builders Challenges

Before attempting this task, ensure you have a shovel ready. Then, set to work:

  • Slime #1 – South of the Initial Temporary Camp; Present a Milkblossom
  • Slime #2 – Northwest of the Castle in Tantegel Moor; Present a Daffodaisy
  • Slime #3 – Northeast of the Red Teleportal; Present a Coralily

After completing these objectives, head over to the Dragonlord’s Island with the diviner’s altar, carrying x1 Milkblossom, x1 Daffodaisy, and x1 Coralily. Proceed south to locate King Slime and present the Verdant Vision to receive x3 Gingerbread.

4. Complete the chapter within 30 days

Continue to follow the same guidelines as noted previously.
