Discovering Smokie: Your Guide to Palworld Locations

Palworld is filled with various charming and powerful Pals. You can assemble a team based on your preferences for their appearance or their abilities. However, not all Pals offer the same level of strength, and some are definitely superior to others. It’s wise to keep the most capable Pals at your base.

Some Pals also provide unique advantages with their partner skills. Certain Pals assist with swimming, while others help you fly or speed across the land. This guide will help you find one of the smaller yet handy Pals, Smokie.

How to Locate Smokie

Smokie is a cute Dark-type Pal adorned with black flames and can only be found on Feybreak Island. This island is dangerous and is located in the southwest of the map, hosting Pals that are above level 50 and other threats.

Feybreak Island has four distinct biomes, and you can find Smokie in the reddish area located in the northern part of the island. It doesn’t stay in one specific spot, but exploring the northern region will eventually lead you to them. For example, head south from the Shield Dragon Tunnel fast travel point to encounter them in groups.

Smokies aren’t aggressive and will run away if they notice you. So, approach them slowly and carefully. As they are Dark type, bringing along Dragon-type Pals will give you an advantage.

To capture Smokies successfully, it’s recommended to use at least a Legendary Sphere, though Ultimate and Exotic Spheres are better options. Enhancing your capture chances even more with Sphere Modules is also a great idea.

Item Drops

When you catch or defeat a Smokie, you will receive a Bone and Crude Oil. While Bone can be acquired from most Pals, Smokie isn’t the best source for it. However, Crude Oil is rarer, making it worthwhile to capture or defeat Smokies, especially if you have a Meat Cleaver.

How to Breed Smokie

If you’d rather hatch a Smokie from an egg instead of capturing one, you can do this through specific combinations of Pals. The following table outlines the required Pals for breeding Smokie:

Partner Skill & Work Suitability

Smokie’s partner skill, ‘Dig, Dog! Dig!’, is great for locating Chromite. Chromite is not visible to the naked eye and is usually found in some caves and dungeons on Feybreak Island. Alternatively, you could use a Metal Detector to find Chromite. However, with the ‘Dig, Dog! Dig!’ skill, you can< strong> discover Chromite without a Metal Detector.

Smokie’s Work Suitability is Gathering, rated at level two. Although there are Pals with higher Gathering abilities available in different locations, Smokie’s single work suitability makes him less effective for your base.

How to Locate Alpha Boss Smokie

If you’re on the hunt for a strong Smokie, seek out the Alpha Boss Smokie. You can find it southeast of the Loess Plains fast travel point at level 55. The exact coordinates are –879, -1467. Once you arrive at these coordinates, head to the teleporter accessing the dungeon known as the Sealed Realm of the Little Hero.
