In the Plains of Eidolon within Warframe, players can encounter formidable bosses known as Tusk Thumpers. These heavily armored machines roam the grasslands and are sought after for their valuable drops. Among them, Tusk Thumper Doma stands out as the most challenging version.
This guide will help you locate Tusk Thumper Doma, provide strategies to defeat them, and outline effective combat tactics. Be prepared to invest some time and preparation, as defeating these bosses can be quite a lengthy process even with a solid plan in place.
Where to Locate a Tusk Thumper Doma
The Tusk Thumper Doma is both rare and strong; it appears only in the Plains of Eidolon during daylight hours and boasts a hefty health pool of 100,000 HP. Tusk Thumpers have specific spawn points scattered across the map, primarily around Seaside Ruin and Hek’s Stiletto. Occasionally, they can also spawn near Hillside Ruin and other areas throughout the Plains.
When a Tusk Thumper spawns, it can be replaced by the Doma variant if the area is at a higher difficulty level, which can occur when you’re free-roaming or engaged in a bounty mission. This means you can increase your chances of encountering one.
Tusk Thumper Doma Spawn Strategy
Before venturing into the Plains, make sure to accept the highest-level bounty available by speaking with Konzu. Select the final bounty option, which represents the highest level.
Once you’ve accepted the bounty, you can ignore its objectives. This will effectively elevate the enemy levels in the area, significantly boosting your chances of finding a Tusk Thumper Doma.
For the most effective results, patrol the area between Seaside Ruin and Hek’s Stiletto. When a Tusk Thumper appears, there’s a good chance it will be a Doma variant, identifiable by the name displayed above its health bar.
How to Defeat a Tusk Thumper Doma
We recommend using a weapon with unlimited ammo, like a Fulmin, as this boss is essentially a bullet sponge that requires sustained fire to take down.
Like other Tusk Thumpers, Doma is invulnerable on most of its body. While you can damage its cannons, this only temporarily disables them without affecting its health bar. The only area to deal consistent damage is on its legs, where cannons are armored and can be blown off, revealing weak points.
Each of its four legs has armor, with a total health pool of about 25,000 HP per leg. Once you destroy a leg, that area can no longer be damaged, so you’ll need to shift your focus to the others.
You can reach these hitboxes using melee weapons, but it can be quite challenging. If you run out of ammo or if your ranged weapons aren’t powerful enough, you can attempt this approach—but be warned, it won’t be easy.
The Doma has several attacks, including a constant cannon fire, a jumping slam, a forward charge, and its signature move, which creates a shockwave that stuns players. Most of these attacks are meant to disorient rather than inflict significant damage.
When its health drops to 50%, it will summon Tusk Seeker Drones and reinforcements, so be ready to handle them while keeping your focus on attacking the legs. Clear out any distractions and concentrate all your firepower on the knees until the Doma is defeated.
Upon defeat, the Doma will explode into loot, which you can collect before extracting from the area. If you don’t get the drops you want, you can restart the bounty and search for another Doma.
Tusk Thumper Doma Loot
The Tusk Thumper Doma can drop a range of exclusive loot from the Plains of Eidolon, which includes fish, animal parts, ore, and gems.
The exclusive loot available only from Tusk Thumper Doma and Bull includes the Korrudo blueprint. This pair of Sparring gloves deals powerful damage but comes at a cost to attack speed. The Doma has the highest chance to drop this blueprint, with a likelihood of five percent.
