Conquer Arkveld: Your Guide to Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds immerses you in the Forbidden Lands, a realm where countless monsters exist in a perpetual cycle of existence. Recently, artificial beings known as Guardian Monsters have emerged from the remnants of an ancient civilization, and it’s your task to put them to rest.

Among these creatures is the Guardian Arkveld, a species thought to be extinct. During the main storyline, you encounter it, and now you’ll face its offspring, which has returned to its original form. As you journey back into the Forbidden Lands to investigate the virus impacting the Dragontorch, you’ll encounter this familiar adversary once more.

Arkveld – Strengths and Weaknesses

Arkveld is particularly vulnerable at its head, chainblades, and tail, while its wings and torso are tougher. Aim carefully to exploit these weak spots. Keep in mind that its chainblades are immune to elemental damage, so you’ll need brute force to break through them.

When it comes to weaponry, any damage type will affect this creature, but Bludgeoning and Slashing are especially effective. Thus, using Hammers, Dual Blades, and Long Swords are your best bets.

Best Equipment to Fight Arkveld

Make sure to equip a weapon that delivers Dragon-type damage, which is where the Grimmblick and Bequeathed Oblivion shine. However, since the chainblades are immune to all elements, you’ll have to rely on your raw stats to break through them.

Defensively, since Arkveld is one of the final monsters you’ll face in High Rank, any fully upgraded armor set should be sufficient. Just remember that Arkveld also uses Dragon-type attacks, so targeting something with good resistance, like the Guardian Ebony Odogaron armor set, is wise.

Arkveld – Fight Breakdown and Moves

Arkveld is an aggressive adversary, and you’ll be in near-constant danger. It moves quickly, jumps around, and can reach you with its chainblades even from a distance. For this reason, staying mobile is crucial.

This monster utilizes Dragon-element attacks, and when paired with Wylk structures, you need to keep your distance, as they will explode shortly after. Additionally, Arkveld generates areas of effect that release bursts of white energy, which can inflict significant damage. Always keep track of its movements.

When using its chainblades, Arkveld will attack in a straight line, repeating this several times. Be cautious, especially when it becomes enraged, as it will ignite the blades with Dragon-type energy, leading up to a powerful three-part explosion attack.

Flank Arkveld whenever possible and target its weak areas to defeat it efficiently.
