Recommended Equipment for Battling Alpha Doshaguma
Using weapons that deal slashing damage gives you an edge against Alpha Doshaguma, especially when targeting its legs, which are more accessible. Long Sword, Great Sword, Charge Blade, and Insect Glaive are excellent weapon choices, providing the reach needed to strike its weak belly more easily.
As Alpha Doshaguma does not possess any elemental attacks, you can focus on equipping armor and decorations that enhance Earplugs and Tremor Resistance. These defensive skills will enable you to maintain your offensive pressure when the creature attempts to interrupt your strikes.
Alpha Doshaguma – Understanding Its Moves and Combat Strategies
Before you confront Alpha Doshaguma, you must isolate it from the group. A proven method is to use Dung Pods on the smaller Doshaguma. First, engage the Alpha to attract its attention, then target the others with Dung Pods to drive them away. Once you have successfully separated the Alpha, you can begin the hunt.
During the battle, the Alpha Doshaguma will primarily use its forelegs for attacks. Be on guard for side swipes, pounces, and leaps. The best approach is to aim for its weak face and breakable forelegs while being mindful of its attack patterns.
Pro Tip: Alpha Doshaguma is relatively easy to mount, which you can exploit to knock it down multiple times. Weapons such as the Insect Glaive excel at mounting, but any weapon will suffice. Look for Wedge Beetles to grapple onto for added height and strike opportunities.
As a highly mobile creature, Alpha Doshaguma is also susceptible to traps. Use environmental features like falling rocks or net traps to your advantage, and set down a shock trap to immobilize it.
The creature’s most significant vulnerability lies on its belly, which may be challenging to target since it tends to stay low to the ground. However, when it attempts a power slam, you’ll have a brief opening to hit it—just remember, ranged weapons like bows or gunner gear are more effective during this moment. Your optimal opportunity arises after you knock it down, leaving it temporarily vulnerable for direct attacks to its soft underside.
As Alpha Doshaguma nears defeat, its wounds will become pronounced and marked as weak points. Pay close attention to these areas—they will appear white initially and turn into open wounds when you can deal additional damage. Different weapons possess unique attacks for destroying these wounds, providing significant damage and staggering effects against it.
