In Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, quests play a significant role in the gameplay, but not all objectives are laid out clearly. Some quests provide minimal to no guidance, leaving you to piece together information from conversations or to navigate the world on your own.
This is especially true for various quests throughout the game, where you may find yourself in an area with little direction, tasked with locating specific items. A prime example is the Sepulchral Path quest, where the search for Nimue’s scrolls can be quite frustrating due to unclear instructions, often resulting in more wandering than actual progress.
Starting the Sepulchral Path Quest
To kick off the Sepulchral Path quest, you first need to finish the Through the Cracks quest given by Sine.
Once that’s done, just talk to Sine again and ask if she has any other jobs for you. She will mention that one of the warehouses has recently burned down, revealing a secret trapdoor, and you will need the help of Filth.
Filth is located in a ruined tower to the east.
After speaking with him, he will provide you with keys that will allow you to access the secret trapdoor. Head west of Cuanacht city to find it, and use the key to enter.
Inside, you’ll find a total of four scrolls belonging to Nimue:
- The first scroll is located inside a chest in the far left corner of the first room.
- The second scroll is found after you take the hole down. Follow the path to the left, turn left again, then right, and crouch down to see the chest containing it.
- The last two scrolls are at the end of the dungeon, which can be accessed by making your way to the bottom.
Once you’ve collected all four scrolls, exit the cave. You can either retrace your steps back to the entrance or dive into the water to find a hidden exit.
Return to Sine and share your discoveries about the scrolls. After your chat, she will instruct you to deliver the scrolls to Deholm.
While Sine suggests giving the scrolls to Deholm, you do have the option to hand them over to Maggot instead.
As far as we know, it doesn’t seem to matter who you choose to give the scrolls to, unless there’s a hidden long-term effect we’re unaware of. Additionally, there doesn’t appear to be a reward difference for choosing either character.
