Crossing Through Crosshairs is a Challenge Course located at The Junction, an intriguing layer in Donkey Kong Bananza. Unlike other levels, this one serves more as a bridge to the deeper levels below. While it’s smaller than other areas, it still keeps some surprises in store, including the Crossing Through Crosshairs challenge.
This Challenge Course is relatively straightforward. You only have to step on a moving platform, navigate a corner, and then step onto another moving platform. But there’s a twist: the world may be crumbling around you, and it can be hard to focus when you’re also dodging massive lasers that are constantly firing at you.
Where to Find the Middle Bananadium Gem in Crossing Through Crosshairs
In most of these brief Challenge Courses, you’ll find the first Bananadium Gem at the beginning and the last one at the end. We’ll share some tips for those who might find this course challenging. For now, let’s locate the hidden Bananadium Gem.
When you’re on the second platform, you’ll encounter a wall made of Neptunite. The game expects you to perform a Kong Bananza move to break through, which seems logical. However, take a closer look: the walls are climbable. If you grab onto them, you’ll find a softer wall above the Neptunite that you can punch through.
Inside this alcove, you’ll discover the second Bananadium Gem. Once you have it, you can quickly run and jump ahead to reach the end more rapidly, saving time that you would otherwise spend evading the lasers.
How to Complete Crossing Through Crosshairs
The concept of this level is simple: you’re floating on a tiny platform, and it’s only a matter of time before the lasers start hitting and destroying parts of it. The key is to draw the missiles to areas where they cause minimal damage, so you can keep as much of the platform intact as possible.
During the first stage, stay near the back of the platform. As you move into the laser fire, this approach often causes the missiles to miss the platform altogether. You can use this strategy for the initial part of the second stage as well.
Once you reach the second platform and it begins to intersect with the lasers, this tactic won’t work anymore. At this stage, pick a corner and maneuver just enough to dodge the incoming fire when the first circle lights up. The alcove will provide some shelter, too.
