After setting up your Greymane camp and completing chapter three of Crimson Desert, it’s time to explore different areas of Hernand. Your first task in Chapter Four, “The Price of Knowledge,” involves investigating an explosion at the Kilnden Workshop.
This puzzle isn’t simple and involves several tricky parts. I struggled with it for a while, and only through some trial and error did I figure out what to do. This guide should help you save time and progress faster through the main story.
### How to activate the ancient generator for the kiln repair quest
This is the first puzzle and can be challenging. You’re given a crank and the ability to move the tower by pushing on the protruding arms. The generator has four layers, and your goal is to match the same symbol across all four.
The crank can be adjusted slightly to activate different layers of the tower. For example, inserting the crank more into the middle causes the middle layer to vibrate, meaning you’ll only move that layer when you spin the tower. The idea is to start at the bottom layer, spin the tower to match the symbols, then do the same with the middle layer, and finally the top layer. Moving the crank from left to right hits each layer, and when a layer lines up correctly, you’ll hear a sound indicating success.
While turning the tower, focus on the lowest level first. Spin it until the symbol matches. Then move to the middle layer and repeat, followed by the top layer. Keep adjusting the crank to hit each level, listening for the audio cue to confirm alignment.
### How to fix the disconnected kiln
Once the generator is running, you’ll need to reconnect the kiln to fix the disconnection issue. Follow the pipe along the floor until you reach the far side of the kiln. Here, you can connect a pipe. Afterward, return to the front and rotate the kiln with its arm until it locks into place. When secured, the kiln will power on.
### Fixing the dismantled kiln
The second kiln is broken, and you’ll need to use Axiom Force to pick up and arrange the separate pieces into the correct shape. Fortunately, the game assists you by automatically rotating the pieces to help fit the overall shape.
To lock the pieces in place, jump onto the top of the kiln, leap into the air, and then use Force Palm while looking down. This action will slam the parts into position. Having the double-jump skill makes this process easier, as it allows better traversal and handling of puzzles like this.
### Putting fuel in the kiln
This puzzle is more straightforward. Use Axiom Force to lift the glowing balls and insert them into the kiln. Push and pull the balls to fit them into place. You’ll need to find two hidden balls: one inside the eye of a statue across the pond, and the other in a small cave beneath the main kiln structure.
Once you’ve added the fuel, rotate the kiln using the arm until it is fully fired. After the kiln is operational, return to Grimnir to receive your Kuku Pot.
