Becoming a member of the Dark Brotherhood early in your Oblivion Remastered experience is an excellent choice, as this questline features one of the game’s most engaging narratives. Initially, you’ll spend time in the Cheydinhal Sanctuary, but soon you’ll connect with Lucien Lachance to complete contracts through dead drops.
The quest known as Final Justice is among those you receive along with your reward from your previous mission. In this quest, your target is Shaleez, a lethal Argonian assassin hiding in the Flooded Mine just north of Bravil. It’s best to approach this quietly, so make sure to equip any gear that helps you breathe underwater.
How to Begin Final Justice
Final Justice kicks off after you complete Broken Vows and collect your reward from the Rotten Chest located under the Old Bridge south of the Imperial City Waterfront District.
Your next contract involves taking down Shaleez, a reputed psychopath residing in the Flooded Mine north of Bravil.
It’s advisable to have armor or spells for water breathing to make this part easier. If you don’t have any, don’t stress; there are air pockets in the flooded chambers that you can use.
How to Defeat Shaleez
Upon entering the Flooded Mine, proceed with caution as it’s a perilous area. Dive into the pool in the first room and follow the tunnel that leads north.
Next, follow your waypoint along either the west or east path, depending on Shaleez’s location when you arrive.
You’ll likely spot Shaleez swimming, but if you’re fortunate, she might be standing on dry land in her camp area. Regardless of her position, she’ll attack as soon as she sees you.
There are three strategies to defeat Shaleez:
- If you’re confident in your combat skills in the water and have strong defenses, you can charge in swinging and handle the grueling swimming battle indoors.
- If you find Shaleez on dry land, keep the fight contained in that area and overwhelm her with quick strikes.
- If you prefer a cautious approach, get her attention and then retreat out of the cave. She’ll likely follow you into the open, where you can fight more comfortably.
Get ready with your most potent spell or arrow for when Shaleez steps outside. Quickly launch a few attacks; melee weapons work too, but they come with a higher risk of complications.
Once you take down Shaleez, your contract is complete. Don’t forget to loot her for some enchanted weapons before you leave.
What Rewards Can You Expect from Final Justice?
You’ll receive an update instructing you to head to Fort Redman, located just north of Leyawiin and west of Arpenia, where you can collect your reward.
Be cautious of the bandits that usually frequent the area around the fort.
Search near the entrance to find your rewards resting in a coffin:
- 500 gold
- Your fifth Dead Drop Orders
- Alval Uvani’s Schedule
You’ll also immediately begin your next quest, A Matter of Honor.
