It’s no surprise that larger, specialized vehicles can come with a hefty price tag. RoadCraft clearly illustrates this, as some of their more advanced tools also carry significant costs.
Even if you’ve reached a high enough level to unlock some of the later game vehicles, there’s no guarantee that you’ll have the funds to purchase them. Opportunities for saving money in the game are limited. To help you acquire that new crane truck sooner, here are the best strategies to make quick cash.
Main Jobs
The main jobs available in each level of RoadCraft are critical to the storyline. The rewards are substantial, providing thousands of dollars and rank points per task.
Many of these jobs are shorter and simpler than others, serving as introductions to various mechanics and locations. As a result, they are one of the fastest ways to rack up money.
You can reset the map progress in the HUB screen, allowing you to redo all available jobs for repeated earnings.
Side Jobs
As you complete main jobs, you’ll encounter optional side jobs that provide extra rewards, even though they aren’t necessary for progression.
The difficulty and rewards can vary widely between levels. Some side jobs may take a while to complete, while others can be done quickly, especially if you have access to higher-level equipment.
Infrastructure Routes
Infrastructure routes often appear during both main and side jobs. These routes are essential for providing benefits that require regular maintenance.
Each route connects two locations, and your task is to create a pathway for a convoy to follow. However, these paths usually include obstacles like debris, broken bridges, or flooding, which need to be fixed.
Once the route is cleared, a convoy will follow the designated path. If it successfully reaches the destination, you’ll earn various rewards, including materials, fuel, rank points, and cash.
If you’ve done well, these convoys will continue to operate, sending trucks back and forth repeatedly. You can check the remaining rewards on the map screen in the infrastructure section.
You’ll receive rewards for the first ten routes, after which they offer no compensation and can be manually terminated for convenience. Make sure to address any route failures even after the first successful delivery.
Selling Materials
Selling materials is the only way to make money that isn’t scripted. Each map has factories producing items like steel beams, steel pipes, and concrete slabs, along with trees that can be harvested.
These materials can be used to complete various tasks, build bridges, or stored away at your base. However, you can sell these materials at a Construction Depot for cash. To do so, load your cargo vehicle with the items and deliver them to the designated area, then follow the prompts to sell your goods.
Material |
Buying Price |
Selling Price |
---|---|---|
Logs |
800 |
600 |
Steel Beam |
2,200 |
1,900 |
Steel Pipe |
2,500 |
2,100 |
Concrete Slab |
1,500 |
1,300 |
Since they only buy processed materials (and properly cut wood), some time investment is necessary. However, with an abundance of raw resources, this can turn into a lucrative long-term strategy.
By dismantling bridges you’ve built, you can get back all the materials spent, which can then be sold if no longer needed.
Selling Vehicles
This method isn’t advisable as it rarely results in profit, but you can sell any non-rusty vehicles you own for a decent amount. The selling price is usually much lower than the purchase price, making this a quick fix for cash shortages.
Alternatively, if you’re upgrading to a better version of the same vehicle type, selling the old one can be an easy way to boost your funds without any drawbacks. After all, you likely don’t need multiple scouts (unless you’re in Multiplayer).
You cannot sell rusty vehicles since they are given for free, ensuring you always have access to the right vehicle for any job.
