Elden Ring Nightreign
In Elden Ring Nightreign, two unlockable characters can be acquired early: the Duchess—who was included in the closed network test—and the Revenant. If you haven’t yet recruited her, her quest is straightforward, and we have detailed instructions to help you through it.
Once you have her on your team, getting to know her mechanics can be a bit challenging. As a fragile Nightfarer, Revenant has low health and is more suited for a supportive back-line role. She excels at reviving teammates and summoning spirits to distract enemies. With the right weapons and spells, she can become a formidable asset on any expedition.
Overview of Revenant
Revenant has relatively low hit points, so it’s best to keep your distance from foes and rely on ranged attacks, particularly Incantations. While she does have access to spells, Revenant stands out because she has high Faith and specializes in Dragon Communion Incantations. If your focus points (FP) are running low, you can resort to close-range attacks since Revenant starts with a pair of claws, but it’s risky due to her fragility. Ideally, you should find or purchase Starlight Shards or conserve your Incantations for boss battles.
There are numerous Relics that enhance Dragon Communion Incantations and boost FP recovery.
Revenant is particularly skilled at keeping her team alive. She uses her summoned spirits to divert enemy attention, allowing her to swoop in and revive teammates. Unlike other vulnerable Nightfarers, she can manage on her own due to her ability to summon allies that take hits for her.
Revenant’s Traits
Like all Nightfarers in the game, Revenant has three traits: a Passive Ability, Character Skill, and Ultimate Art, all linked to her support role and ranged focus.
Passive Ability
Revenant features a unique passive called Necromancy. There’s a chance for enemies and minibosses to be resurrected as allied spirits upon their defeat, aiding you in battle for about a minute. This ability works on everything from basic soldiers to Pumpkin Heads, making it extremely useful against tougher foes. However, it does not apply to major bosses.
Character Skill
Connected to her Necromancy ability, Revenant can summon three different spirits with her lyre: Helen, Frederick, and Sebastian, who are referred to as her "family." It’s important to note that only one spirit can be active at a time. Helen is a quick humanoid who launches rapid attacks, Frederick is a Pumpkin Head excellent at staggering opponents, and Sebastian is a large skeleton that stands still, serving as a distraction.
Note: These spirits tend to perish quickly and deal minimal damage.
Ultimate Art
Revenant shines as a support character with her Ultimate Art, Immortal March. This ability revives all nearby allies and prevents you and your teammates from dying. Although you can still take damage, you will stop at 1 HP. Additionally, it activates your family’s abilities. Helen performs a rapid attack combo, Frederick executes a spinning strike, and Sebastian unleashes a ghostly beam. While they deal slight damage, it’s better to reserve this Ultimate for critical situations, like when your teammates fall in a tough battle.
Best Weapons for Revenant
The most effective weapons for Revenant include Dragon, Clawmark, and Sacred Seals, all of which scale well with her high Faith. Additionally, it’s wise to keep a backup bow handy so you can deal damage and help revitalize teammates while staying at a distance.
It’s also a good idea to have a shield on hand, ideally a greatshield, to protect yourself in case enemies target you. If you feel confident in your dodging skills and can find enhancements to improve your rolls, you shouldn’t have to worry too much, especially because Nightlords and major bosses can stagger you easily.
