When you enter Carcadia Burn from Fadefields in Borderlands 4, you’ll soon encounter a chance to take part in a World Event. The Creep Impact is repeatable but doesn’t always show up. When it does, it’s worth using Fast Travel to the nearby safehouse because you can gain access to several chests filled with loot.
The first time you try the mission, it might be confusing, especially since Gennifer tends to talk a lot. Keep reading if you want a better understanding of how to stop the meteor shower.
How To Start The Creep Impact World Event
Creep Impact is located at Stardown Point in the northern Lopside area of Carcadia Burn, just north of the Makeshift Chalet safehouse. The mission takes place on a small circular island that you need to jump across a broken bridge to reach. It’s usually easier to use the glide pack instead of boosting over on your digirunner, but there are containers hidden under the bridge if you want to take a quick detour.
If the event is available, you’ll see a large triangular symbol on the map at the island. You’ll also receive a transmission from Gennifer when you get close. Head over to the research camp at the center of the island, where a railgun is firing at theInvader Moon. Gennifer will be standing behind a sealed bunker in the camp’s middle—talk to her to start the challenge.
How To Get a Platinum Rank in Creep Impact
In Creep Impact, your goal is to load the railgun, nicknamed Patootie, by placing ore into the tall grinder in the middle of the arena. If you manage to get enough ore into the grinder before the timer runs out, you’ll advance to the next round. Each new round has a shorter time limit and requires more ore, making the challenge tougher as you go along.
There’s a 30-second break between rounds. During this time, you can’t load the grinder either to catch up or to prepare for the next phase.
Reward Tiers
The more rounds you finish, the better the rewards. Completing at least two rounds causes Gennifer to spawn loot chests at the end, plus any extra drops from the Creeps you defeat along the way.
Rounds Completed | Rank | Chests Earned |
---|---|---|
0-1 | None | — |
2 | Bronze | 1 |
3 | Silver | 2 |
4 | Gold | 3 |
5 | Platinum | 4 |
How To Collect Ore
Gennifer leaves a piece of ore after she closes the bunker shutter at the end of her speech. Make sure to stay close until she finishes talking so you can grab it immediately and move it to the grinder. The remaining ore you collect during the fight will come from defeated Creeps that start attacking once you grind the first piece. Watch for ore pieces flying out of Creeps during combat—you can quickly grapple them from the air and drop them into the grinder.
It’s a good idea to stay near the grinder as you fight to save time running back and forth. Keep in mind, ore only drops from about every third or fourth Creep. Badasses are more likely to drop ore, often several pieces at once.
The biggest thing to remember is that ore will explode after a few seconds if you don’t hold it. So, unless you’re playing with friends, you probably won’t be able to collect full loads from Creeps that drop lots of ore. To keep ore stable, hold onto a piece between rounds and then quickly put it into the grinder when the next round starts.
