Even when you’re stranded on a distant planet with no way to return home, left behind by a heartless company that dismisses you despite your contributions to their profits, survival becomes your only option. You can’t let the corporation win, after all. But to survive, you need a place to call home.

Yet, a house can be more than just a shelter; it can become a vibrant space where you truly thrive. Revenge of the Savage Planet lets you transform your Habitat into something special. Internally, at least. Just be warned: it can be quite an expensive endeavor.

How to Customize Your Habitat

The customization process for your Habitat is fairly straightforward, though there are limitations. For starters, you can only modify the interior, and you can’t alter the entrance room, which houses essential elements like the Teleporter, Computer, and 3D Printer. The rest of the Habitat, however, is fair game.

To begin customizing, simply hold the designated button on-screen to access the customization menu. This will detach you from your character, allowing you to move freely and zoom between the two levels as you enhance your space.

Placing items has few restrictions—as long as they don’t clip through the ground or other objects, you can position them wherever you like. The stairs to the second floor are an exception, but that’s understandable to prevent blocking access to that area.

Many items you place can be interacted with, so ensure there’s enough room for interaction, as the game allows you to place items that may block access.

There are various methods to position items. For example, you can enable snapping, which keeps items aligned with the walls, allowing them to rotate only in 90-degree increments. While this is useful for certain items like counters, it can feel limiting since items can’t snap to each other.

In such cases, free-form placement is beneficial. After all, nobody wants a boxy, grid-like home—it looks unnatural.

For furniture like tables, you can also stack smaller items on top. Clearly, a blender shouldn’t be sitting on the floor. However, be cautious, as larger items require more countertop space, often only fitting on larger tables.

Is There a Limit to How Much You Can Place?

When customizing your Habitat, you might wonder how much you can place before the game limits you. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear to be an issue at all. You can fill the space you’re given as much as you like.

There’s no hard limit on items you can place since the game employs a different system to prevent overloading—money. The currency, called Alta Bucks, is finite. While you can stuff your home with inexpensive items, you may run out of funds before hitting any limit.

How to Earn More Money for Customization

Earning a promotion to vice president of exploration in Revenge of the Savage Planet.

Money fuels the game world, specifically Alta Bucks, which are your key to customizing your Habitat. You can gather these bucks throughout your adventures, but their main purpose is clear: to purchase items that make your Habitat more comfortable.

While there aren’t many ways to acquire Alta Bucks, the ones available reward you generously. Completing challenges can give you a significant boost in cash, and regularly filling out surveys from Alta Interglobal can also add a nice chunk to your funds.

The bulk of your earnings will come from Alta Coupon Crates. These crates can be found scattered across all planets, but they won’t be shown on your map or detected by the Survey tool. However, you might hear them as you approach, so keep your ears open.
