Shadow Labyrinth Overview
In Shadow Labyrinth, a 2D platformer game, you must return to your last checkpoint if you lose to a boss or enemy. Thankfully, checkpoints are usually right before boss fights, which makes the game easier to navigate.
Duke Sirius is a miniboss you’ll encounter in the Torn Lands. You may find yourself using your checkpoint often against this miniboss. However, Duke Sirius has specific attack patterns that make it easier to defeat after a few attempts.
Where To Find Duke Sirius
Duke Sirius can be fought multiple times in its chamber, as there is no specific button to trigger the battle. You’ll have to face it whenever you try to cross its area. The main fight happens in Torn Lands, where you must navigate carefully to avoid its tornado attacks. Look for Duke Sirius on the bottom right side of Torn Lands, near a non-orb checkpoint.
How To Defeat Duke Sirius
During the fight, Duke Sirius has three main attacks, each signified by how high it jumps. Here’s what to watch for:
Attack | Description |
---|---|
Ground Pound | Duke jumps and lunges at you, creating a shockwave that deals damage on impact. |
Tornado Attack | Duke flaps its wings to summon tornadoes that move toward you. This attack is particularly challenging. |
Fire Attack | As it loses HP, Duke rises and creates a rain of fire at a specific spot. You can dodge this by moving away. |
The key to winning against Duke Sirius is recognizing its attacks. For the Ground Pound, time your dodge well to avoid getting hit. The Tornado Attack requires more strategy:
- If you are close to Duke during this attack, try to dash through its body.
- If you are far away, jump between the tornadoes as they approach.
As Duke loses health, it will summon tornadoes more quickly. Be careful not to dash through a tornado, as it will lead to getting hit by the next one. Once you master the timing, you’ll be ready to defeat the boss.
If you activate Gaia mode, you can attack Duke more aggressively. After defeating it, you can use the devour skill to collect materials, but it won’t give you any special abilities like the major bosses do.
