RimWorld is a sprawling game with an abundance of resources to discover, but often there’s little guidance on where to find them, making exploration essential. Fortunately, Cloth is relatively easy to locate and collect.
Cloth is a valuable material in RimWorld. It can be used to create furniture and clothing without needing to harm any animals, which can be important for players who want to maintain a peaceful colony.
How to Obtain Cloth
To gather Cloth, simply start growing Cotton Plants. First, set up a Growing Zone through the Architect menu under the Zone section.
After placing a Growing Zone, you can choose the crop you want your characters to cultivate. Cotton Plants require no research and take about eight days to mature. They thrive in relatively low light, making them easy to grow.
When you harvest the fully grown Cotton Plants, you will obtain Cloth right away—there’s no need for machinery or crafting stations, which is a major convenience.
While leather and other textiles can also be used for crafting various items, such as clothing, Cloth is essential for certain recipes, including the creation of Medicine and some furniture pieces.
You can also buy Cloth from specific traders, but since it’s straightforward to grow, it’s more efficient to cultivate it yourself if you need some quickly.
