All Challenges and How to Complete Them

You’ve got a lot of fun challenges ahead in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds—some are optional, some unlock trophies, and others are just for bragging rights. Checking the Challenges menu will show you many titles and prizes you can earn from your efforts.

There are six main challenge categories—plus a special one that evolves as you unlock more titles in the game. While racing through the detailed tracks, completing these challenges will earn you new titles and tickets.

Updated on October 30, 2025: With new updates and a better understanding of how challenges affect trophies and achievements, here is detailed information on completing each challenge and the rewards involved.

What Are Challenges?

In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, challenges are tasks you complete during races or other game modes to earn titles and prizes. You’ll start noticing challenges fairly early when you race against your first Rival, often completing a few naturally.

You can track your progress in the Extras menu. Each challenge you finish is marked by a bold icon and a checkmark. Completing challenges earns you titles, which you can customize from the Challenge screen or the Titles menu and showcase during races.

Below is a list of the various challenges in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, along with tips for completing each one and what trophies or achievements you can earn.

Race Challenges in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

| Treasure Hunter | Obtain 10 special item boxes. | These boxes contain rare items and are less common on tracks. They appear in fixed spots, so once you learn their locations, collecting them becomes easier. | N/A |

| Pathfinder | Go through 5 Shortcut Rings. | Hidden on many courses, these rings offer quick shortcuts. Finding all of them can give a good edge. | N/A |
| Burning Rubber | Perform 10 level 1 Drift Boosts while using the Lv. 1 Quick Charge Gadget. | This gadget is available at the start; using it frequently will likely complete this early. | N/A |

Progressing in the game unlocks the Special category, which becomes available as you complete all other categories. Keep working through every challenge to move the Chao toward the final goal displayed at the bottom of each challenge screen.
