In The Sims 4: Enchanted By Nature, players encounter eight new ailments. These ailments function similarly to illnesses as they impact the Sims for a limited time, altering their appearance and actions. They can be transmitted to other Sims and will either disappear on their own after a few days or can be treated.
Each ailment comes with its own set of unique symptoms, and can sometimes even offer advantages. Sims pursuing the Naturopathy career should take note of these symptoms and physical indicators. Let’s explore how to identify each ailment, what they do, and ways to create cures for them.
What Are Ailments?
There are a total of eight ailments, each presenting both positive and negative effects, along with distinct symptoms. Typically, these ailments endure for about three days unless treated.
All ailments cause Sims to vomit unexpectedly.
How Can You Catch Ailments?
You can catch ailments through several means:
- Being Out of Balance – This occurs when a Sim is frequently in a bad or uncomfortable mood.
- From Another Infected Sim – Ailments can be caught by being close to others who are infected, for instance, at work or in public restrooms.
- Cursed by a Fairy Sim – A fairy Sim equipped with the cure or apply ailment ability can afflict another Sim with an ailment.
How Do You Cure Ailments?
Cures for ailments can be crafted using the apothecary skill at an apothecary table or purchased from the apothecary stall. Additionally, you can obtain a cure from Moondrop Springs in Everdew. Sims can also hire a Naturopath for treatment or cure others if they choose to follow this new career path. Fairies can learn abilities to either cure or inflict ailments on other Sims.
