Capcom’s upcoming release for 2026 is garnering impressive reviews, possibly positioning it as an early frontrunner for Game of the Year.
What PS5 game might be an early contender for Game of the Year?
Pragmata, Capcom’s newest action-adventure title, is scheduled to launch on April 17, 2026. Early reviews indicate it’s a game not to miss. On OpenCritic, it premiered with a solid score of 87, with 94% of critics recommending it. Ratings range from high eights to perfect scores, positioning Pragmata as a strong early candidate for this year’s top game.
IGN’s Michael Higham described Pragmata as “a punchy shooter with innovative hacking puzzles that make combat the main highlight. While the story may feel like a minor add-on, its sci-fi narrative provides enough depth to keep players engaged through the whole third-person experience.”
Eurogamer’s Dom Peppiatt praised the game for “challenging sci-fi shooter norms in a bold, experimental move.” GameSpot’s Steve Watts added, “Pragmata offers a substantial post-game experience filled with plenty to do. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Hugh and Diana. The combination of sharp mechanics, strategic depth, and compelling storytelling makes this a game you won’t want to miss.”
PlayStation Lifestyle’s Tyler Treese noted, “Pragmata is the standout title of 2026 so far, blending puzzles and third-person action in an incredibly fun way. If you’re after something fresh, this is it. It features a stunning sci-fi universe worth exploring, and Capcom’s streak of hit titles continues unabated, with more potential game-of-the-year contenders on the horizon.”
