What Does Affinity Do?
Afinity represents your chance to land a critical hit with an attack. Increasing your Affinity means your strikes are more likely to cause critical damage, which is 25% more effective than regular hits.
You’ll know you’ve achieved a critical hit by the bright red streak that flashes when your weapon connects with the monster.
However, some weapons might have negative Affinity. In this case, the negative Affinity percentage refers to the chance that your hit will deal less damage, resulting in a 25% reduction to damage.
How To Increase Affinity
Each weapon comes with a base Affinity stat, but you can also boost your overall Affinity through specific skills. The Critical Eye skill enhances your total Affinity, while Weakness Exploit increases your Affinity when attacking vulnerable points of a monster.
Critical Eye and Weakness Exploit can work together effectively, but keep in mind that Affinity can’t exceed 100%. Once you reach this cap, every attack will be a critical hit.
