This roadmap for Battlefield 6 outlines what players can look forward to after the game launches, starting with Season 1. The updates will introduce new maps, weapons, vehicles, and even game modes and events. Whether you’re excited or not, these updates will follow a regular seasonal pattern, gradually adding fresh content each month.
Season 1 begins with Rogue Ops and will be followed by two more updates. The second update will feature a special winter event to wrap up 2025 and conclude Season 1. We aren’t sure what’s planned for 2026 or Season 2 yet, but we’ll keep this guide updated as we get more details. Meanwhile, here’s what we know so far about Battlefield 6’s roadmap leading up to the launch on October 10.
Battlefield 6 Season 1 Roadmap
Season 1 officially starts with post-launch content on October 29, just over two weeks after the game’s release. It kicks off with the Rogue Ops update, which will bring a new map, three fresh guns, and more. In November, California Resistance will arrive, featuring another map and mode, followed by Winter Offensive in December, which will be the last update for the season.
Since we don’t have an exact end date for Season 1, it’s safe to assume each season will last about 12 weeks, meaning Season 1 might wrap up around late January 2026.
Rogue Ops Update – October 29
This inaugural update is the biggest of the season’s three releases, adding a new map called Blackwell Fields. Set on a decommissioned US air base in California’s Badlands, it supports both land and air vehicles, so learning to fly could be useful. The update also introduces the Strikepoint mode, where two squads of four players each compete over a central objective, with only one life per player.
Additionally, a new vehicle called the APC Traverser Mark 2 will be available. It’s a four-seater capable of carrying a driver, roof gunner, and two passenger gunners, probably on the Blackwell Fields map. As for weapons, players will get three new guns: the SOR-300C Carbine, a slow-firing but powerful rifle; the Mini Scout, a lightweight bolt-action sniper similar to a previous Battlefield favorite; and the high-capacity GGH-22 sidearm. There will also be attachments like rail covers and a Low Powered Variable Optic, though details on their in-game effects are still unknown.
California Offensive Update – November 18
About three weeks after Rogue Ops, the California Offensive update will introduce a new map called Eastwood, set in a wealthy suburb with big houses and a golf course. It also adds the Sabotage mode, where teams have one attack and one defend round, trying to detonate multiple sites before time runs out.
This update will feature Battle Pickups—hidden high-tech weapons you can find on the map—though exactly how many and where remain a mystery. The weapons include the DB-12 Shotgun, a dual-barrel pump-action shotgun able to fire shells or slugs; the M327 Trait, a powerful revolver with eight rounds; and a Troy Angled attachment for rifles, offering more customization options.
Winter Offensive Update – December 9
The final update for Season 1 comes about three weeks later, focused mainly on a limited-time event called Ice Lock. It features a visual overhaul of the Empire State map, turning Brooklyn’s streets snowy and icy without changing gameplay mechanics.
This event introduces the Ice Lock game mode with the ‘Freeze’ modifier, which might make environments more challenging. The update also adds a new melee weapon: the Ice Climbing Axe. Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to be used for climbing but could serve as a unique close-range tool in combat.
Keep in mind, details on what comes after Winter Offensive are scarce, but based on previous games, each season will likely last about three months, probably ending around late January 2026. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
