Hello Kitty Island Adventure places you on an island with your friends, where exploration is your main goal. You can unlock new areas by completing various quests. One such quest, called Power Up The Gate, allows you to access new locations, including the Spooky Swamp, where you’ll encounter Kuromi and Kerropi.
To complete the Power Up The Gate quest, you’ll need to tackle several smaller tasks. This will involve making friends and obtaining Magnets, which are essential for crafting the Crystal Sensor. Once you have the sensor, you’ll be on the hunt for Yellow Power Crystals to unlock the gate.
How to Start the Power Up the Gate Quest
As you begin your adventure on the island, My Melody will ask you to deliver gifts to friends in Seaside Resort during the Small Gift Big Smile quest. While working on this quest, you will also make friends with Chococat and other characters.
After finishing this quest, you can talk to Chococat to kick off the Power Up The Gate quest. He can be found near the large gate on the left side of the island just past his tent.
How to Craft the Crystal Sensor
Chococat will inform you that to open the gate, you’ll need to locate some Yellow Power Crystals, but you can’t proceed until you’ve crafted the Crystal Sensor. To do this, gather the following materials and head to the crafting table outside Chococat’s tent:
- Three Sticks
- Three Magnets
Sticks can be found scattered around the Seaside Resort. However, they can be tricky to spot since they’re often hidden behind plants and bushes or perched atop wooden crates.
How to Get Magnets
To collect Magnets, strengthen your friendships with Badtz-Maru, Tuxedosam, and Pochacco. Once you’ve raised their friendship level to two, each will reward you with a Magnet.
Pochacco is located in the lower area of the island, just past the Gudetama signpost. When you chat with him, he’ll mention seeing a little egg. You’ll need to photograph it and return to Pochacco at the signpost to receive your Magnet.
How to Find Clothing Stands
You’ll find Tuxedosam inside his shop, situated near other homes in the island’s center. He will inform you that he’s lost some Clothing Stands and will ask for your help in finding them as part of the Standing Up quest. All three stands are located close by, but make sure to check thoroughly since they may be hidden behind objects.
After leaving his shop, you should find one stand nearby. Ascend the path above to discover another between two rocks, and continue left to find the last stand behind a yellow sign next to Visitor Cabin 2.
How to Get Badtz-Maru’s Magnet
Badtz-Maru may be a bit unfriendly and won’t give up his Magnet easily. First, find a comic book on a rock near his spot. Once you gather it, he’ll notice a comic stand close by and settle down there.
Interact with him again, and he’ll request a Water Balloon. You’ll need three Rubber, which looks like blue balls with pink stripes, available on the island. After collecting three, craft the Water Balloon at the crafting table, then give it to Badtz-Maru to receive his Magnet.
Rubber can also be found on the sandy beach or hidden behind bushes.
How to Find Yellow Power Crystals
Once you’ve crafted the Crystal Sensor, equip it from your toolbar. When you move closer to the crystals, the sensor will react strongly, identifiable by sound waves around the sensor and it turning red. You’ll find two Yellow Power Crystals in the puzzle rooms within Seaside Resort.
If you can’t access these rooms, wait for Chococat to stand on one of the buttons outside the door. You’ll need to place some crates on the buttons to unlock the puzzle room and reach the Power Crystals.
The final Yellow Power Crystal is located beyond a broken bridge on the resort’s north side. Speak with My Melody to start the Building Bridges quest, where you’ll collect some Strawberry Crates found around the island.
Once you have gathered all three crates, return to the large gate. Chococat will activate it, opening doors to new areas like the Spooky Swamp. In addition, you’ll earn Decorative Yellow Power Crystal Plans and Blank Book Crafting Plans as rewards for completing the quest.
