A distinctive 2023 PS5 adventure game has been removed from the PlayStation Store. While current owners can still play the game they already possess, new purchases are no longer possible.
Which game has been taken off the PS Store?
Cookie Cutter, a sleek 2D Metroidvania released in 2023, appears to have been pulled from the PS Store. The first report of this came from the PSN Profiles forums. The exact reason for its delisting remains unclear, but last year’s news hinted that developer Subcult Joint was experiencing disputes with publisher Rogue Games over the game’s pricing.
An article from 2025 on Delisted Games noted that Subcult Joint was unhappy with Rogue Games’ decision to discount the game by over 90%. The developer even took to social media to urge fans not to buy the game at that point. In a deleted reply on X (formerly Twitter), the developer criticized the steep discount as “moronic” and alluded to potential legal action.
What became of that situation is still uncertain. It appears that Subcult Joint regained the rights to the game, as their Steam page now lists them as both the developer and publisher. Currently, Cookie Cutter is available for purchase on Steam for $19.99.
