Digital Phablet – Fans of the Lord of the Rings are in for an exciting announcement as Warhorse Studios, the creators of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, is developing an open-world Middle-earth role-playing game inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendary universe.

The studio took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share, “You might have heard the rumors; now it’s time to reveal what we’re working on. An open-world Middle-earth RPG. A new adventure in Kingdom Come. We’re eager to share more when the moment is right.”

This announcement follows the well-received launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which garnered acclaim from both critics and players for its compelling storyline, expansive open world, and intricate yet rewarding combat system. The game was also nominated for the “Game of the Year” award at Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards, competing alongside major titles such as Death Stranding II, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
