Michael Empric, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, will be present to officially acknowledge this groundbreaking honor for Batman.
Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, expressed her excitement by stating, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to celebrate our first superhero on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! It’s the one and only, Batman! Fans across the globe will be delighted to see Batman’s star situated alongside those of television’s Batman, Adam West, and co-creator Bob Kane.”
Notable figures at the event will include Jim Lee, president and publisher of DC Comics, as well as Anne DePies, Senior VP & General Manager. Steve Nissen, the president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will serve as the event’s emcee.
Batman, created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger for DC Comics, made his debut in the 1939 issue of Detective Comics #27. The iconic Batman television series, featuring Adam West and Burt Ward as Robin, premiered on ABC in January 1966. The show’s catchy theme song, composed by Neal Hefti, won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Theme and generated a cover contest on the Billboard Hot 100.
Over the years, various talented filmmakers, from Christopher Nolan to Zack Snyder, have brought Batman to life on the big screen, both in live-action and animated forms.
The Batman film franchise has achieved remarkable success, accumulating over $6.8 billion globally, making it the 10th highest-grossing film franchise in history.
