Google is now displaying shopping advertisements directly within the free listing grid on the Google Shopping tab. Previously, Google was more consistent in showing a higher number of free listings, but this appears to be changing.
Brodie Clark shared on various platforms that sponsored ads are now integrated into the organic-looking grid results in the Shopping section, alongside the traditional ads that used to appear only at the top of the page. This shift seems to follow the recent introduction of ads within grid results in AI Mode and the main search results area.
He included a screenshot illustrating the new format, which shows more shopping ads appearing amidst free listings. This move isn’t entirely unexpected, considering Google’s ongoing pattern of blending paid ads with organic search results.
