Google announced that AI Mode will soon be available in the Chrome address bar, the Omnibox. This feature allows users to input lengthy queries and select AI Mode to experience a new level of interaction. Additionally, users will be able to search within the current page using the Chrome Omnibox and receive an AI overview, enabling follow-up questions directly within AI Mode.

The upcoming AI Mode in the Chrome Omnibox, launching later this month, will enable users to pose more detailed and complex questions and receive helpful AI-generated answers. The system also facilitates easy follow-up questions and deeper exploration of topics on the web. A demonstration GIF highlights how AI Mode functions seamlessly within the browser.

Robby Stein from Google shared on a social platform that AI Mode is one of the most powerful AI search tools coming to the Chrome address bar. It allows users to ask multi-part, complex questions and continue inquiries without leaving the browser, making browsing and researching more efficient. The rollout will begin later this month in the United States with English language support, followed by expansion to other countries and languages in the upcoming weeks.

Furthermore, Google revealed that Chrome will soon offer contextual suggestions in the Omnibox related to the current webpage. For instance, if someone is shopping for a mattress, the browser might suggest queries like “what’s the warranty policy?” based on the page content. These suggestions aim to streamline the research process by providing relevant follow-up questions.

Users will also be able to ask questions about the entire page directly from the address bar. Chrome will generate relevant queries based on the page’s context, aiding in quick information retrieval. An AI overview box will appear on the right side of the page, where users can conduct follow-up queries within AI Mode without navigating away from the current content. This feature will initially roll out in the U.S. with English support and will expand to more regions and languages over time.

A video further demonstrates these AI features integrated into Chrome, showcasing how users can benefit from more intelligent and context-aware browsing.
