Orders for the 820RR motorcycle, the model that made the company the first Chinese team to win a title at the World Superbike Championship, are now booked through October, a recent report indicates.
Customers are rushing to place orders, prompting the company’s headquarters to ramp up production capacity to meet demand. A representative at the ongoing China International Consumer Products Expo in Haikou, Hainan, shared that the initial purchasers have already received their bikes, but anyone ordering an 820RR now may have to wait until October or November for delivery.
The 820RR has become a focal point at the company’s first appearance at the expo after France’s Valentin Debise, riding an 820RR-RS, secured two wins for the team in the World Supersport category at the recent Portuguese round of WorldSBK. This victory broke a long-standing dominance previously held by Ducati, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.
Following the championship victory, many motorcycle enthusiasts, including international visitors, have visited the booth to learn more.
The company offers three main models: the 500RR and 500F, each priced at CNY29,980 (about USD4,395), and the 820RR, priced at CNY43,800. A newer model, the 820RR-R, is expected to be released in June at a price of CNY61,980. Customers can now place orders exclusively through the company’s online mini-program.
This year’s WorldSBK season features 12 races, with the race in Portugal being the second. Industry analysts note that the Balance of Performance is reviewed and adjusted after every three rounds, making the upcoming race in the Netherlands a critical test of the company’s technical capabilities.
Founded in April 2024, the company sold 25,000 units last year, according to Chongqing Daily. However, pre-sales have surged this year, reaching nearly 60,000 units so far, and revenue has surpassed CNY1.8 billion (around USD264 million), as reported by CCTV News.
