Over 314,000 international buyers from 220 countries and regions attended this year’s spring session of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, illustrating the continuous strength and appeal of the Chinese market.
According to figures released by the China Foreign Trade Center, the number of overseas buyers participating in this spring fair increased by 1.1% compared to last fall’s event. Among the attendees were 407 leading enterprises and 154 foreign industrial and commercial organizations.
The spring event ran from April 15 through yesterday, covering a total exhibition space of 1.55 million square meters with 75,700 booths and over 32,000 exhibitors. The fair introduced nine new specialized zones dedicated to emerging industries, including smart wearables and consumer drones, featuring approximately 670 exhibitors and more than 1,300 booths.
One of the showcased solutions was from PingPong, which presented an upgraded, all-in-one global payment platform offering local account functionalities and support services tailored for markets such as Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, according to Peng Zhong, director of product operations at the platform.
Another exhibitor, My Robot Time, displayed its robotics, programming, artificial intelligence, and STEM education solutions. Zhong Zhigang, founder of the innovative robotics education firm, explained that they introduced new AI-based educational tools for drones. These lightweight drone programming solutions have garnered significant attention and praise from international customers, Zhong said. The intuitive systems allow children with no prior coding experience to quickly learn how to program and command drones for automatic flight.
Cereblink Hangzhou Technology presented a set of care solutions aimed at stroke recovery, specifically for hemiplegia patients. Using Cereblink’s specialized equipment, patients can perform daily tasks like unscrewing bottle caps and cleaning with assistance, according to founder and chairman Ma Sanguang. The company’s devices are currently undergoing clinical trials in several major hospitals across China and are progressing through the approval process. They are anticipated to be utilized in areas such as embodied AI and wearable health devices.
