The roadmap for upcoming DLCs in Assassin’s Creed Shadows currently features only one confirmed expansion: Claws of Awaji. This expansion will continue the adventures of Yasuke and Naoe beyond the main storyline. Although the roadmap looks sparse at this time, the main game is expected to provide enough content to keep players engaged. Here’s what we know about the future DLC, expansions, and additional content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows DLC Roadmap
Unlike earlier titles in the Assassin’s Creed series, Shadows will not feature a Season Pass and currently, there are no further long-term plans for additional content with Claws of Awaji being the sole confirmed DLC for the time being.
Additionally, we have been informed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not include a new game plus mode at launch. However, this feature could be added later depending on player feedback. If the game performs well and there is enough demand, more expansions and DLC could be on the table, but this is not guaranteed. I will keep this guide updated if new details are released after the game’s launch on March 20.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji Expansion
The first expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Claws of Awaji, plunges Naoe and Yasuke into the challenges of a mysterious island, mirroring the real-life Awaji Island located west of Osaka. Players will need to recover a stolen treasure while navigating through various traps and facing off against clever new adversaries known as the Sanzoku Ippa. This expansion is scheduled to be released “later in 2025”.
This DLC will also introduce a new weapon type, the Bō staff, which Naoe will use to confront enemies. Players can expect to find new equipment and unlock fresh abilities while enjoying “over 10 hours of extra content” set after the conclusion of the main game.
To access Claws of Awaji, simply pre-order any version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The expansion comes at no additional charge, meaning you’ll effectively receive it for free. Once AC Shadows launches on March 20, it’s expected that Claws of Awaji will also be available for separate purchase, though the pricing details are yet to be announced. Pre-ordering any game edition includes access to the exclusive “Thrown to the Dogs” quest, which will also be available at launch.
